Overall Satisfaction with Slack

My team and I use Slack throughout the day, every day, to communicate, update, track and manage projects. We also encourage members to use Slack as a social platform to share personal projects and anything else they'd like to share that's outside of our daily work. Slack has taken the place of email for internal comms.

Pros

  • Keeps my email inbox clean
  • Helps me organize my projects
  • Enables me to have one-on-one conversations with team members

Cons

  • I've never quite figured out how all of the third party tie-ins work, e.g., Google Drive, Figma
  • I can't put an actual dollar figure on a ROI but there's no doubt Slack adds value to our teamwork
  • It's easy to waste time on Slack because it's simple to post content and encourage other people to interact
Slack is a tool that overall is simple to use.
Slack has a better UI than Discord and is easier to use.

Do you think Slack delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Slack's feature set?

Yes

Did Slack live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Slack go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Slack again?

Yes

Slack is great for more casual communication and also quick updates on projects. It's especially useful to keep conversations flowing in one thread — as long as everyone follows the rule to reply in a thread and not just as another post. It'd be great is Slack could find a way to make use of threads more automatic.
