Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have teams based in multiple countries, and across multiple offices, and it allows us to all work together, as if we were in a single location. it does a great job of narrowing the distance between us.

Single platform for audio and video and chat
Easily accessible on all devices and platforms

Cons

Resource utilization on computers can be poor
Recent redesign of sidebar has made things more complicated to organize

Facilitate better conversations amongst the teams with an easy to track history for new people
Simplified our notification system and reduce the number of emails we need to send groups
Made it easier to work across globally distributed teams

Usability

I use it every day and it greatly simplify my day-to-day workflow. It allows me to get an easy concise review of everything I need to address or be made aware of across all of my devices. It’s incredibly simple to work with and interact with team members that are spread across the globe.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams and Google Chat

I absolutely hate Microsoft Teams, I dislike Google Chat, I really like Slack. The main reason for that rating boils down to UI and usability. At my company, we have to use teams and chat still when we are interacting with customers or certain other departments within the company, and it’s so painful every time because the experience of using Slack is that much better
