Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for fast communication between teams. We have chats for each project and these spaces are like a Whatsapp group with more power and business tools. Reminders, notes spaces. It's perfect so separate corporate messages that if they stay in Whatsapp there is some confusion during weekends of out of office hours.

Cons

There are some UX confussions. Replies open on threads and sometimes it hard to keep up with all, but it's a matter of time and getting used to it.
Slack is getting bigger and new functionality is added. Sometimes we feel it should stay simple.

Return on Investment

It's all positive. People start using is right away
People love that the business is there, and personal stuff lives on Whatsapp. But you can manage fast messages on your mobile device.

Usability

Somethings are kind of confusing when a lot of people are chatting. But it's just the time needed to try the options and get used to each functionality. But I keep on answering in some wrong spaces, after more than 2 years of continuous use. It's really great overall. Sharing files, integrating Google Sheets, Asana, and some other api to get alerts or bots to chat and get info. It's great..

It's like an email replacement. Information is there. Searchable. Setting up reminders inside your chat app is great. Taking time to generate processes so everybody know what's the objective of each channel is great, so then people know what to send over email or a task manager app like Asana, and what to resolve over Slack.
