Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Each and every member of the company gets a Slack account on their first day, and we use it for all internal messaging and ad-hoc calls. It means that in this working from home age, everyone is simply a message or call away and everything is logged, which is crucial to our businesses day to day operations. It allows for cross-collaboration between departments which would otherwise be made difficult without Slack.
Pros
- Ease of use
- Simple to implement
- Great messaging service
Cons
- Ease of use - it is very much a 'pick up and play' software that does not take any time at all to get used to for new starters
- Simple to implement - to create new users and just set up and integrate the system into our company could not have been easier
- Great messaging service - it is a seamless way of messaging colleagues
- As a business that always has lots of projects going on, the quality of file sharing means that the files are never affected negatively when messaging on Slack
- The ability to add anyone to an existing channel, and allowing them to view previous messages from before they were added allows for seamless collaboration and makes life so much easier for us
- I love the way we can easily share surveys internally without the need to spend unnecessary time doing this via email or an external software
Microsoft Teams feels clunky in comparison to Slack. Slack feels more versatile and intuitive, and much more tech minded then Microsoft Teams does. I would say Microsoft Teams may have the advantage if your business is fully with Microsoft (ie the full Office suite), but other than that I cannot think of anything it has over Slack.
