Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Slack has been instrumental in helping us with interdepartmental communications across the globe as well as opening a clear line of communications with our clients. We have offices all over the world and real time communication had been a challenge. With all of Slack's integrations and the ability to send messages as well as files in real time has helped us tremendously. Additionally, whenever we onboard new clients we typically ask that we start a Slack channel for our communications.

We haven't yet qunatified the ROI of Slack's collaboration efforts and if I had to guess I would project a 75% increase in productivity

Usability

Slack has an intuitive UI and is easy to navigate for even those who are the leaast "technologically inclined". The ability to drag and drop files is super helpful and saves time by not having users search their files for the specific file they are looking to share to upload. Overall, it is very easy to use.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Teams and Zoom Workplace

I've dabbled with Microsoft Teams and Zoom's chat features in past roles at startups. Teams integrates well with Office but feels clunky for quick searches and daily chats. Zoom is great for video but lacks robust file sharing and app integrations.
Slack wins for us with its fast search intuitive channels and seamless bots. It cut our email clutter by half and keeps things lively with emojis and GIFs (pronounced Gif or Jif, you decide). We chose it over the others for better workflow without the bloat.

Likelihood to Recommend

Slack has been instrumental in the way we run projects. Because different teams sit in different offices, when we collaborate we always keep logs of our progress in a dedicated Slack channel which can be assigned a different name. Also, we prefer to communicate with clients via Slack if they already have a dedicated Slack workspace and simply ask they create a channel.
