Splashtop...the solution for remote access
Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop
We use Splashtop to connect to the server from anywhere we are. I also connect from my phone and this has proven invaluable since there are some things that can only be done via the server. It takes the stress out of being away from the office for extended periods of time and with a small office like I have it is very affordable. I would definitely recommend Splashtop for any small business owner needing access to their office computer while away from the office.
Pros
- I was able to connect via my phone to obtain information for a client while I was out of town.
- We are able to access a clients bank account for him without bothering him to process items he sends because we only open the bank on that computer so rarely need to contact him for the access code.
- Being able to access remotely to update software is also a great help so that it can be done no matter which office I am working at and helps streamline my time.
Cons
- The only thing I find that is difficult is when accessing Splashtop from my phone, it can be a challenge to get the alpha keyboard back once you've gone to another keyboard option. This could be user issues as I'm still working through learning this new tool.
- Splashtop helps me answer client emails/texts even when I'm away from the office.
Meets everything I need and maybe more than I realize at the moment. The security seems good and since I'm upgrading the rest of my security I'm hoping to be even more proactive in protecting client information.
This worked very well with the help of my sisters who both work in this type of industry. I have not followed all the newest options but they found Splashtop for me and I'm very content with the performance.
Yes - TeamViewer was much more expensive and had many features I did not need for my small business. Since I have only 1 part time employee, we don't need alot of tools that were provided by TeamViewer and Splashtop with a private VPN replaced the need for TeamViewer.
