Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise
I am a solo practitioner specializing in immigration and criminal defense. When the pandemic hit, I had to quickly figure out a way to safely and effectively work from home. I have one full-time legal assistant who also needed to do the same. Our immigration software is not in the cloud so we both had to be able to access the database stored on the office computers from home.
- I like being able to remote print without having to add drivers
- There is almost no lag time when using the remote computer, sometimes I forget which I am on!
- Being able to restart the computer remotely has been extremely helpful due to updates or freezing issues on my old office computer.
- I wish I could move the top control bar as sometimes it blocks what I am doing.
- It would be nice if I accidentally forget to switch to remote printing if it would ask me if I'm sure I want to print a local copy instead of a remote one as I often forget to change to the remote option and needlessly print a copy at my office and then wonder why it hasn't come out of my home printer... :)
- It kept the office afloat during the lockdown.
- For about $200 2 people were able to access the software simultaneously which was all I needed. Great ROI!
- The only negative is that I now often struggle to motivate to get out of the house and back to the office! :)
I have such a small practice that I am not too worried about hackers. Not sure if this is naïve but I feel quite secure using the remote login. I have never noticed anyone or thing hacking in while I was using the software. I just use the password and email login option.
After researching all of the options at the start of the pandemic, I was able to use the software on a trial basis for a week, I think. It took less than an hour to install, configure, and learn to use the remote login features. I am not tech savvy, but it was pretty intuitive.
