Splashtop for Non-Profits!!
Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise
Splashtop is currently used to connect to other servers, laptops in the field, and provide screen-sharing capabilities to our 1800+ users. The idea of being able to connect to practically any device saves us an insurmountable amount of time. Primarily our IT department is the main user of Splashtop. The people we support enjoy the convenience of being able to show someone in IT their issue, problem, or question in a matter of seconds saves our organization from back and forth messages and emails.
Pros
- Very simple easy to use.
- Reliable and secure.
- Pricing is affordable.
Cons
- Multi-monitor Splashtop connections have their share of problems. Especially when the monitors have different resolutions
- I have not been able to get sound over the Splashtop connection to work consistently.
- Instant support.
- Less driving and diagnosing machines onsite.
- Remote patching and updating.
Splashtop offers several levels of security when it comes to connecting to remote workstations. There are various security options to fit most organizations.
The onboarding experience was a 30-day trial. I installed Splashtop on a few machines, tested connecting/disconnecting, restarting the remote workstation, and went from there. Since Splashtop is very simple and straightforward to use, the onboarding and trial phase was very easy as well.
Yes - Splashtop replaced Team Viewer. I had Team Viewer for several years. Team Viewer was aggressive in their pricing structure and price increases so being a non-profit, I had to look at alternatives.
