Overall Satisfaction with Splashtop Enterprise
Splashtop Enterprise is used for remote access and remote support of our company's computers. It works extremely well for both Mac and PC and allows our workers to act as if they were in front of their computer while at home or on the road. It eliminates the need to be in the office at all times, and with mobile access doing tasks on the computer remotely is always an option.
Pros
- Speed. Splashtop is super fast. It's hard to tell the difference between using the computer remotely and locally.
- Convenience. You can access computers remotely from any device quickly and easily.
- Cost. It's a great deal, especially when compared to the competitors. You get a lot of features from the money.
Cons
- Any complaints are really nitpicky. Splashtop occasionally has maintenance windows but they are late at night.
- File transfers work really well but big files can take some time.
- The integrated Bit Defender add-on is severely limited, while inexpensive, I can't recommend it. For example, you can't exclude specific folders without emailing the company.
- Users are able to work remotely which saves time and travel costs.
- Splashtop is inexpensive, especially compared to the competition. Having employees with remote access anywhere is worth the investment.
- Remote SOS support has saved many headaches by getting to systems instantly and having a set of eyeballs on them for troubleshooting rather than guiding the (often less technically skilled) worker on the other end.
Splashtop excels at security. Every computer that is either added to the system or used to access Splashtop enabled computers must go through 2FA with the admin account. It can be a bit of a pain, but that is true for all security processes. We feel confident in putting even our most important servers and workstations in our Splashtop account because the encryption protocols and 2FA requirements work well.
Splashtop has multiple ways to onboard your computers and users. We use Microsoft Intune so deploying the Splashtop custom MSI installer is unbelievably easy. Once installed on the workstation or server, Splashtop just works. In the Splashtop console, we send invitations to all of our users who then create accounts and can access the computers that are assigned to them. Easy!
