Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SpyFu is a great competitive tool. It may not have the most bells and whistles, but it does provide the primary function needed for search advertiser evaluations. We don't take the spend data as gospel from it, but it provides fairly strong directional insight for us to work with. The price isn't too bad either.

Semrush and SimilarWeb PRO

Currently we actively use Semrush and Similar Web, along side SpyFu. To be honest, the platforms are fairly interchangeable. Each one has one or two unique things that the other doesn't have. None of it is totally earth shattering. So often it comes down to price, and SpyFu is fairly inexpensive.

Overall Spyfu isn't to shabby of a platform. Is the best? No. Is it the worst? Also no. But it is a good option for any ad agency that does search engine marketing, whose client focus is larger than small medium businesses. However once you get to the major enterprise size advertisers, you may have outgrown the platform.
