Poor Customer Service - Fine Print Cancellation Policy - No Compassion
Overall Satisfaction with TeamViewer
TeamViewer WAS used across our entire organization for several years. We used it to remotely access customers' machines as well as unattended access for our own devices. I would not recommend TeamViewer. We interfaced many problems and clunky security that made usage slow. Additionally, many clients' firewalls would not allow the download of their exe file. Because of these frustrations and our growing cost due to license numbers, we searched for alternatives and moved to the Zoho Assit platform which is faster, easier to use, and significantly cheaper. We thought we had cancelled our auto-renew, but apparently we did not. We contacted TeamViewer within two hours of the renewal to cancel. They acknowledged that we had not been using TeamViewer for months, however, their fine print required cancellation 28 days prior to renewal. Nice, really nice. They are enforcing a 365-day contract less than 2 hours into it. I fully admit we agreed to those terms, however, is that how anyone wants to be treated? We are less than half of one percent into the subscription, refund 80% and keep 19.995% for your 'trouble.'
Pros
- Easy-to-use interface.
- Fast connectivity.
- They do a great job at marketing their product.
Cons
- Care about your customer.
- Don't sucker punch people with fine print.
- Have a policy for pro-rating terminations.
- Poor ROI.
- Customer service is fast but not helpful.
- Never use again.
Zoho One is excellent. I highly recommend. TeamViewer is nothing special, although it works (well) as it should. Cancellation policy is that you must notify them 28 days before renewal. I got locked in when I found out we were renewing - there is NO NOTIFICATION that your renewal is coming up (outside of 28 days).
