Overall Satisfaction with Tipalti

The finance department codes and reviews each of our many invoices that come through, then each department has one or two people who have an account to review the invoices they submit after they have been coded. Thus, the finance department is the main department working with Tipalti, but it is definitely used across the whole organization and has been very helpful since implementation.
  • Automating our AP process for all invoices aside from our suppliers
  • Before we were sending paper checks to pay our vendor bills and this process has been smooth and very useful
  • Storing information--W-9s, Invoices, Payment Details
  • That makes our finance department confident and comfortable that we are retaining all invoice information and that it is safe
  • Support response time
  • Typically when I send in an email for a support problem I get a response within 24 hours, if not before I log off for the day, so that has been very reassuring, as we wanted to ensure we always had timely support when we began looking for an AP solution
  • Listening to users of the product and continued followup of the software
  • Allows the team to know you are truly interested in learning and understanding how the product is working for the users and how to improve. It is appreciated!
  • Temporary glitches and slowness in the software
  • About once a month the software is severely slow and may take over a minute to review and save an invoice to move forward to review; this is very inconvenient when you have 100+ invoices to get through.
  • Integration with QBO and currency
  • Currently am working with support to see how the payments we have made in currencies other than USD (which was a great and exciting feature, and one of the reasons we went with Tipalti) integrate to QBO. Currently, in my experience, the other currency number that syncs to QBO will not be the correct USD number reported in QBO. Oftentimes caught during our monthly reconciliation, but still inconvenient to consistently fix. Luckily we don't have that many right now, but we do plan on more in the future.
  • OCR Tech
  • Although it is great to have, 40% of the time the scan does not pick up the correct information from the invoice, thus the further development of that technology could be very helpful to ensure less work for the reviewer. This could possibly be improved by allowing the scan to detect more formats of invoices.
  • Very positive ROI due to the time management, ease of use, and easy collaboration between other departments and submissions of invoices--there is a 100% ROI when the previous payment options were to send checks

  • Tipalti has made review, submission, and followup very easy to use and self-sufficient in comparison to waiting for us to write and send checks.
  • Relationships with vendors and on time payments
  • I can only imagine that our implementation of Tipalti has made us more polished and professional in the eyes of our vendors, encouraging them to work with us again due to the ease of payment, invoice submissions, and followup.
Paper checks and the occasional wire transfer for urgent payments, Tipalti is 1000% better!

We did evaluate Bill.com, Beanworks, Quickbooks, Avid XChange, and Mineral Tree when searching for an AP software, but found these solutions were not as advanced or did not offer all of the aspects we were looking to gain in an AP software. My initial relationship with our sales director and then our implementation manager was also a huge factor of why I pressed so hard for Tipalit as opposed to other solutions. They were friendly, professional, listened to all of our concerns, and negotiated with us, which gave me a very good first impression of the company. Their 30-minute demo was also very helpful, informative, and easy to watch when I started my research and needed to reference an easy demo to relay to the team.
Very easy to use! We needed to tweak our process using the software for our business needs, but I haven't gotten anything but great feedback from the department head/approvers on the usability of the software.
Great! I get my response once submitted sometimes before I log off for the day, but the latest has been 48 hours.

In comparison to other AP software options, Tipalti is unmatched. The main con in comparing other software would be the price since it is more expensive to competitors, but you get great quality for what you pay for. I have briefly introduced one of our outside accountants to Tipalti and she loved it, was blown away, and sought out to become certified in learning and implementing the Tipalti software.
