The Corporate Affairs team at Centrica is using Cision Communications Cloud (Trendkite)* to solve a long-standing problem of an inability to demonstrate the value of utilizing media. Cision Communications Cloud has been able to help Centrica demonstrate the impact of a commercial campaign. Cision Communications Cloud allows for ad hoc analysis, tracking of website visitors across multiple online sources and overall brand impact.

TrendKite competitors include Cision [before TrendKite was acquired by Cision], Meltwater, Newswire, Agility PR Solutions, Business Wire, PRWeb, and Coveragebook.com. The Centrica organization evaluated a few of these competitors before selecting TrendKite. Cision [before joining with TrendKite] had a slower reach to ROI. The Centrica organization had previous experience utilizing TrendKite and quickly realized the investment, coupled with the ease of implementation and level of service, it made the selection of TrendKite [now Cision Communications Cloud] very easy.

Cision Communications Cloud is well suited for scenarios where there is a strong focus in PR getting information out to the media. It provides value in helping organizations in achieving the ability to demonstrate the value of using media via statistical measurement of website browsing or engaging in content. There is no empirical data to indicate where Cision is less appropriate.

Support Rating

This rating is based on the ease of implementation of TrendKite and client satisfaction with the product. Centrica used TrendKite in a previous year for media monitoring on articles published, reach, and the net positive impression of the business in Europe. Cision Communications Cloud / TrendKite is effective as it is suitable for global organizations, such as Centrica.

Usability

I am not a frequent user of the tool, but serve more in a support role from an implementation perspective. In this role, I had an opportunity to use the tool. I found the tool is not intuitive compared to other solutions that I have implemented. I did have to engage a Cision / TrendKite representative for a walk-through to be able to navigate the tool
