Overall Satisfaction with TriNet

The response time is generally very quick. The only real issue is that we have had three or four different primary account representatives in the four years we have been with TriNet. While the transition has not been disruptive, it is always a bet disconcerting to deal with change. TriNet was helpful when we had to terminate an employee and made sure we had the process down to minimize the risk and make the transition for the employee as palatable as possible.
We use TriNet for payroll processing, HR functions and benefits. We use all of these functions across the company. We have utilized the HR function in a couple of instances to make sure we are limited in exposure. We are able to offer our employees outstanding benefits at a rate that would be unavailable to us given our size. We plan on utilizing the hiring function in the near term.

Pros

  • TriNet handles routine processing very efficiently for our company. We have never had a problem in processing and TriNet is good about informing us if there are any issues expected.
  • The benefits program allows us to offer employees excellent programs and allows the company to cover the costs. These programs would be too expensive for us to offer without the power of TriNet's purchasing power.
  • We have reviewed the hiring tools and expect that they will have a positive impact in our ability to screen potential hires efficiently.
  • Company representatives always respond promptly.

Cons

  • It can be difficult to find particular issues within the website. The screens are less intuitive than I would like.
  • Occasionally, the payroll function will process without supervisor oversight. This has happened twice.
  • Reports can be customized, but we don't use that function.
  • Trinet makes payroll processing a very small part of our business processes.
  • We do not have the worry and time consumed to handle regulatory reporting
  • We have great visibility into our payroll and HR processes through website data points.
We have evaluated this tool and expect to use it in the near future. It appears to be a very cost effective method to evaluate and screen potential hires. It will allow us to post openings efficiently and at a reasonable cost. It is scalable and touches the hire websites that we would use in conducting a search.
In large employers, I think the cost associated with TriNet would be prohibitive. The ability to manage risk after reaching 100-200 employees would probably not outweigh the cost of TriNet. TriNet is extremely well suited for small companies. They were able to help us with our needs as a start-up without making a deposit or disqualifying us due to size.
