TriNet Review 8-14-24
Overall Satisfaction with TriNet
We use TriNet to process our payroll, provide a wide variety of health benefits, and as our HR Department. As a small business, we do not have a designated HR department, so we use TriNet to help us keep compliant. Also, we would not be able to provide the wide variety of health benefits at a reasonable price on our own. We like being able to provide our employees benefits that can actually fit their individual family needs.
Pros
- Onboarding as a new client was pretty seamless with a set schedule of items to be completed and regular meetings to go through those items
- Updating me through my Inbox on the platform with HR items that I need to take care of
- The mobile app is great and it allows employees to view information at their fingertips and they can request time off from their phone instead of having to wait until they are in the office to use a paper form.
Cons
- Onboarding employees has been a little confusing for some people. I think it might be the flow. I have some new people who will not notice that they need to fill out their tax information. I will have to remind them. I think if the system took you from section to section it would be better than the tiles you click on.
- Creating and editing reports is very confusing. I have attended some webinars and am still confused. It would be nice if the webinars were taped so you could start and stop them to work along in the system as you go.
- Recently I had an employee who changed his address. I received a notice in my Inbox to review it to see if his workplace needed changed. It would be nice to have a "no change needed" button so that I could dismiss the Inbox notice instead of "having to wait for it to fall off" like I was told would happen. I don't like having things in my Inbox that don't need taken care of.
- Increase in employee satisfaction with their benefits
- I am spending less time on HR functions and feel that we are compliant than we were before
We have used a regional PEO prior to coming to TriNet. We only had 4 medical plans, 2 dental plans and 2 vision plans to choose from.
