Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

I was looking at design software. I wanted to compare half a dozen software companies, check to see which of my requirements they met, and then create a presentation/matrix for our management team with my recommendation. I came to TrustRadius because it was the only website that compared the technologies I was interested in.
  • To understand my options (i.e. build my short list or long list)
  • To compare products
  • To find evidence to support my recommendation to colleagues or my client
  • To see what other users think of the product I am currently using
I came to the TrustRadius website from Google and landed directly on a page that was already comparing the software providers in the space. This was pretty helpful. They also presented them neatly side by side which made it easy to understand. Hearing from actual reviewers and users of the product was good too.
I look to see that the reviews are neutral. I also want to make sure that people are comparing the products based on criteria that are important to me. If I know they are in similar positions at other companies, that helps boost my confidence. I want to make sure that I do my research so the more detailed a review is, the better.
I never buy anything without checking reviews. It's my internal reputation on the line. If I make the wrong call with a piece of software, that's bad.
  • Straight from Google to comparison
  • Side by side comparison
  • Easy to understand
  • Reviewer objectivity
  • Structured reviews, e.g. feature presence
  • Ease of use
1. Google
2. Blogs
3. The company websites
4. Excel spreadsheet to keep track of who had what feature
I don't really have a lot of experience with other review sites. Nothing really stood out too strongly about TrustRadius.
It's good but has some room to grow. The reviews right now are pretty unstructured and the comparisons aren't apples to apples. It's good to get a basic overview, but not to answer the real questions someone who is going to purchase the final product will likely want to ask.
