Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

We were looking for a virtual event vendor and started with TrustRadius. It was easy to view the different vendor options for virtual events and then from there view the pros and cons of each. It was only myself and another colleague who will be using this so simple to discuss. We ended up going with Cvent who we've worked with in the past after evaluating a few other options recommended on TrustRadius.
  • Easy to Search
  • Straight to the point unlike Google
  • Lots of reviews
  • Fairly new area so not many companies listed
  • Had to dig around to find a few other competitors to evaluate
Both vendors we evaluated were upfront with the pricing and frankly were quite similar. Working with a knowledgeable and trustworthy salesperson certainly helps as does being upfront with them and not wasting their time. Come prepared, ask questions and listen to their responses and most of the time you will be greeted with transparent pricing information.
TrustRadius has always been top of mind. I know a number of people who have written reviews on it and unlike Amazon product reviews you know you're getting the real deal not fake reviews from people looking for free things. I've only heard of TrustRadius and G2 but find TrustRadius to have more information.
We did not use any analyst reports or rankings.
Product ratings certainly help with the purchase decision but more so what the reviews are saying. If a product is going to require a lot of support from the company but there are lots of reviews saying the support is awful I'll try to find another vendor. Conversely if it's fairly self-explanatory lower customer support might not matter as much.
As previously mentioned we're looking into fairly new technology (who wanted to host virtual tradeshows before March 2020?). With lots of new technology coming out and the long lead time from purchase to hosting your event, there's not much experience out there about what we're looking for. Relying on reviews from the company's other products and history certainly helped shape our decision.
It's like being able to ask hundreds or thousands of professionals their opinions instead of just relying on one person's recommendation or experience within your network. Also great to develop questions to ask salespeople as you deal with evaluating their product and avoid any possible mis-steps by learning from other's experiences.
