Overall Satisfaction with UserTesting

I work in UX content design, so I use the platform for A/B, comprehension, and validation testing. It really helps me do what I consider an essential part of my job: getting our content in front of real users before we commit it to the live product. That helps me justify some of the content decisions we make.

Pros

  • Ease of use is excellent.
  • The turnaround of testing is very fast.
  • The platform support is exemplary.

Cons

  • More content-specific templates please.
  • A dark mode would be great.
  • More comprehensive FAQs.
  • Content is key to the sign up journey and UserTesting helps me improve that.
  • UserTesting has helped me improve the Cashier on our site, making it easier for users to deposit money.
  • UserTesting is helping me iterate all our content decisions, helping us improve the UX across all platforms.
I've used the "power hour," as I think it's called. This really helped me gain a greater understanding of my specific needs and wants from the platform. This excellent service points to the excellent relationship UserTesting provides its clients. I would recommend this service to any of my colleagues.
Initially, I found the platform daunting, having never used a comparable site. However, I attended a series of workshops hosted by the UserTesting team, and thanks to their expert approach, I picked it up very quickly—so much so that I can now confidently teach my colleagues how to use the platform effectively.
Absolutely. The quick turnaround time for collecting user feedback is a valuable tool in my day-to-day work. I have a deep understanding of the theory behind content design; however, my assumptions are not enough to convince stakeholders of the decisions I make or the challenges they have with said decisions. The quick turnaround helps me make informed decisions that stand up to scrutiny when challenged.
This is the only comparable platform I've used.

Yes

UserTesting is excellent for solving complex content problems. A lot of work I do is based on compliance messaging, some of which is convoluted and confusing for users. If I can test variants of the content on users to find a way that's both compliant and user friendly then I've done my job well, UserTesting is essential in helping me do that. Regarding less appropriate scenarios, I honestly can't think of anything specific that affects my career. It would not be easy to use for physical product testing, considering the platform is online only.
