Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint
WatchGuard AuthPoint allows us and the clients we serve to easily add a second layer of protection on our remote access to internal company resources. It is used by all users at each company we have set up and it makes the ever-present need for additional security simple to manage for our internal IT staff and easy to use for end-users.
- Integration with WatchGuard Firewalls
- Transparent MFA confirmation Prompts
- Secure Login for VPN
- Easy to manage for Multiple Customers
- Simple\Quick End User Setup
- Improved Documentation, some are bit difficult to follow
- Remove the need for Java for Gateway software
- Delay or schedule option for User Activation email
- Keeps Cyber Security Insurance requirements met in regards to remote and management access
- One less attack vector for external threats to exploit
- Less time spent managing MFA codes for end users, all can be used in one app
- Azure Multi-Factor Authentication (Discontinued) and Cisco Secure Access by Duo
WatchGuard AuthPoint has similar or more features than both Duo and Microsoft 365 Azure MFA. Its setup guides are much more fleshed out than Microsoft's and it is priced lower than both options. As long as your options for the 3 years licensing.
Having WatchGuard AuthPoint as a cloud service is great. I can easily log in and manage settings and/or resolve issues no matter where I am and it removes the burden of yet another on-premise application that has to be monitored, updated, and managed.
AuthPoint's Activation email and setup have been the first MFA solution where I have had users be able to set up their MFA app on their own. There are some that still need help but its simple activation help relieve the burden and walk each user through that process. With other products, the activation process always involved more steps and/or having to click on specific options to access the MFA setup menu.
I have not yet implemented\used AuthPoint as an SSO option, yet. However, I am looking as to where this can be implemented as the fewer passwords users have they remember the better.
