Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard AuthPoint

We use it to safely authenticated our VPN connections. We needed a safe way to connect into our office resources and have multi factor authentication for the users. Without it, we would not really have a secure connection for our clients to access internal resources while having a WatchGuard firewall.

Pros

  • Authenticate
  • Ease
  • Cost effective

Cons

  • Outages sometimes
  • Can get buggy
  • No "always on" option
  • Overall better security
  • Sometimes outages make it hard to work
Reducing password reuse, reducing password resets. Easy for the users to use. Too often we had users using the same password for everything. This really helped at least get the VPN connection extra secure without having to use same password, or keep having users that forgot their passwords and the time involved with that.

We do not use the bundle. We use Azure which is very convienient for multifactor. We cannot give too much more feedback on this subject as we do not use the Total Identity bundle at all. We mainly use the Firewall with Total Security suite and MFA with the authpoint service.
I cannot name a time because we do not use this offering from Watchguard. We use MFA with authpoint and the firewall services. Both have saved me from hacks, and DNS watch in the watch guard firewall has stopped several suspicious activities from web browsers, which is very valuable to our organization.

If you already have WatchGuard firewall, this just integrates a lot better than any other product. We tried Microsoft Authenticator but not nearly as seemless for the experience as it is with WatchGuard AuthPoint. It is all built into the same portal as the firewall and can be managed very easily.

Great for companies that use WatchGuard to safely connect their users through the VPN. MFA is so important these days and this product makes it easy. I feel like it is the perfect pairing when you are already running a WatchGuard firewall. Why go with anything else unless there was an issue with product.
