Overall Satisfaction with WordPress

I use WordPress for my website and blog. I chose it because it is flexible and fairly easy to learn. I chose a paid version of WordPress to access technical support. Support is responsive and yes, you can interact with an actual human being! I also chose the paid version because it allows me to restrict scraping by AI bots.

Pros

  • Easy to format
  • Possible to embed video or audio
  • Simple to create re-usable items, such as promotions

Cons

  • Allow for more variety in page design with different templates
  • Keep AI out!!!
  • I am steadily gaining new readers
  • I am able to draw attention to products and services
With no technical or programming skills, I can still create a viable web presence with a WordPress blog.
Squarespace has terrible search capacities and tech support is missing.

Writers and solo/micro businesses who do not have support staff can benefit from WordPress with robust how-to materials and tech support. A WordPress blog can be used in conjunction with other tools, such as a newsletter or online community.

Using WordPress

I do not want to learn a new system. I would like to learn new uses of WP, new features and templates, to make my blog more appealing to readers.

Evaluating WordPress and Competitors

Yes - I used a more expensive managed WordPress previously. I also tried Squarespace which was a no-go! Poor features and no support!
