Overall Satisfaction with Wrike
Wrike is primarily being used by our Information Technology department, but there are a few other areas of the business that utilize it as well. From an IT perspective, we have been utilizing it as a means for ITSM (primarily change review). It offers us a centralized and web-accessible platform to track these changes.
Pros
- Wrike makes it very easy to create objects/tasks with features like an Outlook add-in to simply select a message and convert it to a task.
- Wrike also provides us workflows for task management, which is very important for our Change Approval Board processes.
- The ability to access Wrike via mobile app, website, and/or desktop client makes it very versatile and ensures the ability to access your tasks/tickets from anywhere.
Cons
- If you have multiple mailboxes (i.e. - Shared mailbox) added to Outlook client, the add-in to create tasks doesn't function on the secondary mailboxes. You have to move/forward/copy the email to the primary mailbox in order to use the add-in.
- There were frequent software updates (for desktop client) which meant we were constantly uninstalling the old client and installing the new client. Doing this meant that you have to "re-pin" the shortcut to your taskbar again (if you pinned previously).
- I am not sure if Wrike is "intended" to be a Ticketing system for ITSM, but it works much better as a Project Management system rather than as a Ticketing system.
- Multiple platforms supported (desktop client, mobile, web).
- Automation/workflow capabilities.
- Affordability.
- Customization.
- Wrike has been an excellent and affordable platform for us to use for Change management and Projects.
- Being able to track budgets and timelines on our software development has helped save money by keeping us on track with our delivery goals.
- The ability to provide our Executive board with charts and timelines for deliverables has helped us to secure the additional funding we needed to complete the development of our application.
- TeamDynamix IT Service Management (ITSM), Microsoft Project and BMC Track-It!
We have been using Wrike for all aspects of ITSM, including as a "ticketing" system. We are moving away from Wrike for ticketing in favor of TDX (TeamDynamix). We selected Wrike initially as a means of Project management, but then tried to leverage it as a Ticketing system as well. It just isn't designed for the level of customization and automation that we are trying to use it for (from a ticketing aspect). In regards to how it functions as a Project Management and budgeting software, it works very well and we have no regrets using Wrike.
