Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

[Xactly] Incent is extensively used by our Sales Organization to manage all details of the monthly commissions. It provides targets, information on the sales activity being measured and the commission due to the Salesperson for the measured activity. Each month I provide each Salesperson their a download of their Sales activity and they in turn compare the detail to their own sales records for accuracy. After all adjustments are completed and submitted, I then provide a monthly summary of the commissions earned by person and forward to the General and Sales Manager for final review. Then if everything is approved, we upload an approval document.
  • The best part of Incent is the "drill down". I need to see the detail to be able to review the sales activity. I find the drill down feature easy to use and fast.
  • Next, I like that I can see the commission that is being paid out by each component of sales. Often times a salesperson is confused or unsure of what their commission should add up to be and this provides a good detailed explanation.
  • The "on-line" approval is easy to complete and the review summary is also convenient.
  • Honestly, I find the program very easy to use and also easy to train others to use. Our internal procedures are sometimes less convenient, but this is no fault of Incent.
  • It is very hard to put a financial number on the benefits, but I feel the commissions are more accurate and easier to review and approve than our previous manual method.
  • I also feel that the Sales team members themselves are more knowledgeable on the details of their commissions since they have all the visibility to the line-by-line calculation.
I often like to review the detail of the Lost Business. Our organization does it's best to divide the reason for losses and I can see some detail on the reason when I drill down. A good example is the "change of owner" category included in lost business.

The same goes for New Business. I am able to quickly look at prior months and put together a trend of new sales if needed for a review of a Salespersons results.
This is an area I have not worked on. My primary task is to work with actual commissions. The detail and the accuracy.

I have not used the goal setting or sales performance areas of [Xactly] Incent yet.
To my knowledge, only our "Salesforce program" is interfaced with Incent. However, it is possible that our head office has made us of other functionality that I am not aware of.
I am from the Finance side of the organization and my goal is the accuracy of commission paid. To accomplish this I need the detail that Incent provides. I believe the Sales Organization utilizes additional functionality, but I do not know what that may be.
I have not used other products like [Xactly] Incent. Prior to Incent, we had manual forms.
Where Xactly Incent is best suited, is for helping the Salesperson see the details of how their commission is calculated. For our company, there are a number of different components to calculate commissions and I find it an excellent program. I also like that the all our Sales team members can also access Incent and conduct their own initial review anytime.
