Overall Satisfaction with Xactly Incent

We used Xactly Incent and Analytics to manage sales incentives (quotas, stretch goals, base and kicker commissions, cross-sells, and other forms of incentives) within our organization. We had 4 business arms and the largest one within the US incorporates about 100 people and half of them were in our sales teams. With 2 managers having about 40 DRs with multiple “plans” within Xactly with attainment logics.
  • Calculating group plans for managers who didn’t get quotas but received revenue as a percentage of their DRs earnings
  • Using logic to differentiate different commission structures by product
  • Nullifying product commissions even if they generate revenue for those that do not qualify for commissions
  • Having proper org charts and detailed information on license types
  • It could have better ways to edit plans
  • Breaking quotas requires a monthly calculation instead of the system automatically pre-populating it after receiving the annual quota amount
  • Breaking the system between analytics and Incent
  • Enhanced visibility
  • Reduced disputes
  • Automation of payroll distribution
Leveraging a tool like this for one arm was a Segway to introduce it to other business units which are compensated through sales KPIs. We’d like to add a few other areas where managers can manage multiple quota goals to eliminate the use of outside Xactly Incent areas to manually calculate sales-related goals
It has helped TK have the reps be able to have streamlined views by forecasting what sales can obtain through tools like this. Xactly Incent Estimate
HR uses this to ensure commission policies are up to date finance uses this to calculate the future forecasts for payroll payments we in sales operations (a shared service unit) use this to actually calculate and distribute the payments on a month to month basis along with calculating bonuses and quotas

For all sorts of organizations that are trying to do away with on-sealable excel files and automate commission distribution practices. It can also house boilerplate documentation and execute approval processes so organizations with multiple managers like within consulting could do well with tools like Xactly Incent to compensate their staff
