Overall Satisfaction with Xero

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Xero is the expense management app we use for our company. We require receipts for all expenses above $35, and I think Xero does a decent job of enabling submission of receipts. It integrates with the user's phone camera, allowing the user to upload receipts immediately.

No ability to change approvers
Phone app is much better than the website
Lack of responsiveness to user feature requests

Makes submission and approval of expenses a lot easier than submitting a stack of receipts and an Excel spreadsheet
Low cost option to major expense management platforms

No expense pre-approval ability or ability to change/reassign approvers

We use only cloud-based applications

We have not integrated Xero with any other apps. There is nothing we would want to integrate it with

Alternatives Considered

SAP Concur and Expensify

SAP Concur is very heavyweight, and is appropriate for a large enterprise Expensify scales to whatever size the business is. In my opinion, Xero is only appropriate for a very small company

Likelihood to Recommend

Very basic expense management application. In my opinion, it is light years behind SAP Concur and Expensify. I think it needs to have the ability to enable pre-approval of expenses (e.g., airfare) and to assign approvers.
