Overall Satisfaction with Xero

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Xero as our accounting software for A/P, A/R, Bank accounts, etc. We also use it for financial reporting and helping us to keep on top of where our business is financially. Xero continues to add products, such as payroll, to help our business run efficiently. It has helped us have an in time view of our financials and with the new syft it is even better.

Accounts Payable
Financial Report - Being able to create our own reports

Excellent support of small to mid size businesses
Financial dashboard for up to the minute picture of company
Bills available to streamline a/p process

Cons

Accounts Receivable - there is no capability of adding finance charges on late invoices. This is a HUGE problem.
Reports - it is great to be able to create your own reports but it is a little difficult to figure out how to use it.
Checking - Our credit union business side is not able to download to Xero. This is a burden in keeping on top of finances throughout the month.

Return on Investment

It has saved considerable time in entering data for A/P and A/R
It has given us the opportunity to customize reports that can be shared with our employees - keeping them informed of the health of the organization

Usability

The biggest piece missing is the finance charges in A/R. In today's economy, this is a much needed feature, especially for small businesses who work on limited resources. The other component that is missing for us is the lack of interface to our credit union's business side. We are not able to link to the credit union and need to manually download our bank accounts and credit cards. The interesting piece is that you are able to connect to the personal side of the credit union.

Cloud Costs

It has cut down on the overhead costs for data entry due to ease of use. It has saved us time in getting the financial reports we need in a timely manner. With the addition of Bills and payroll it has saved us even more time. Looking forward to additional new features to streamline our business.

Ease of Integration

The integration with the gusto payroll system was seamless and easy. They have an open platform so I am looking forward to how this will integrate with our new painting CRM as we move forward.

Alternatives Considered

QuickBooks Desktop Pro and QuickBooks Online

Xero is 100% better than Quickbooks. Xero was recommended to me by our CRM software and in doing my research, I was highly impressed with the ease of use and the great reviews it received. The customer support from day one of setting this up through my questions over time, has been awesome!

Likelihood to Recommend

Xero is very easy to use and has great customer support. The ability to customize reports is an excellent feature. Accounts Receivables - not having the ability to add a finance charge is a HUGE issue, creating extra work and tracking. The lack of an interface to the credit union is a concern for recommending this software to other businesses in our area since this credit union is used by many small businesses.

Xero - easy to use accounting software
