The Acumatica ERP pricing structure allows adding casual users, suppliers, and customers without paying for additional licenses.
The cost is based on the features and resources utilized, not on the number of users who access the system. An Acumatica partner works with users to understand specific requirements, determine the proper resources and modules for the company, and presents a price for the license.
I've used PeopleSoft. I've used Mass 90, Sage 100. I've used probably every software that's out there, even as small as QuickBooks, but that's not enterprise software. So I've used quite a few of the big ones. I can't think of 'em off the top of my head, but those are a couple.
Acumatica has helped us so much with when we completely redid our inventory and warehouse. It now keeps us very organized when it comes to inputting new products or stock items. Inputting invoices is also very smooth. I love being able to attach the pdf invoice from the vendor to the files within the PO and AP bill
You really need a big enterprise to take advantage of PeopleSoft. It is not entirely user-friendly, and it often requires massive amounts of customization to make it work for layers if you will. Business experts can figure it out, but if you are expecting someone to easily learn how to use the timekeeping modules without heavy customization, it's really not for you. You need to know going in, that this is not for a small business at all, and not even a medium-sized enterprise. It's geared to massive organizations that need to integrate business processes over geographic areas and multiple departments.
We just went live about two weeks ago, so we are here at Acumatica Summit to see everything it's capable of. One of the things it is capable of is the dashboards and the integration with some of these third-party people to ensure we can get the data we need when we need it, so we're looking forward to getting all that live for us.
One of the best thing it does is it is customizable. You can implement any business logic you need. This is one of the very key assets of PeopleSoft Financials.
PeopleSoft Financials's accounting methods are in line with industry standards. You can use the process as is and ledger will be taken care of.
It supports multiple ways to integrate with other systems.
There are a few spots where there is a list of data that we need a total for and we have to extract to Excel to get a total. It would be helpful to see a sum right in Acumatica.
For the first time today I had an interesting glitch - my entire bank reconciliation unchecked the "reconciled" column and needed to be redone for the month. Funky little glitches happen from time to time
Pivot tables don't seem to update as expected by using filters
PeopleSoft Financials does not address the needs of small organizations that do not have a large enough staff to maintain the software or utilize the features it provides as it requires a moderate staff to keep track of all of the transactions and processing
PeopleSoft licensing costs are significant, which are relative to the features provided but in many cases those features may not be necessary
PeopleSoft licensing structures can be frustrating at times when certain modules would allow you to perform the complex task needed but it would require the entire module to be licensed for just that one feature (e.g. Cash Management for loading bank statements in certain formats)
It is a flexible system that is very flexible and is easy to use. It will also be able to scale as the company grows. Frankly, we have invested too much time to walk away from it now and the initial phase is going well
PRISM is a great tool to track and watch numerous financial documents. I would like to see more of an integration platform that would control tracking for specific project details. There is currently only a little section for job notes which I would like to see improve. I think navigation could be improved, but isn't the worst compared to some platforms I have worked with as it provides a tree like structure on the backend which helps synchronize information together for fiscal financials.
Only reason is because when teaching our departments how to use, it takes them a long time and multiple requests about where things are located... as IT team, I can navigate easily, end users like accountants and shipping, it's a tiny bit cumbersome, but I believe ModernUI will resolve
The usability is very outdated In my opinion. The screens resemble those of Windows 3.1. Too many clicks and drop-downs or clicks to go to a new screen. The business logic also appears dated and requires an update. Overall, it does not have a pleasing User Interface and should be refreshed, or a new interface should be built from the ground up.
We recently switched VARs and it has made a world of difference! Our new VAR actually is proactive to various situations versus being reactive to events that have happened. They are accessing how we are using the modules and suggesting better more efficient ways!
I can't give them a perfect rating because it does often take a long time and usually more [expensive] to resolve trying issues that cannot be solved by our in-house team. PeopleSoft is complicated, and the mix and match of user-created and stock modules cause problems very often. These usually require more customization to completely fix, requiring more money spent with
I'd say the partner selection is critically important. I think the software is very easy to implement. It's very customizable to your business. Finding a partner that will work with you to understand your business and your needs is the critical piece to make sure that the system goes along with it.
I recommend that everyone pay special attention to developing a solid testing and training plan if you are even thinking of implementing PeopleSoft. Be ready to obtain good trainers and developers, otherwise, your journey can be unnecessarily painful and much more expensive. Try to stay with an implementation partner who really has your needs at heart, and actually takes the time to understand your organization!
Acumatica's flexibility, user interface, reporting, customizable system, data imports, Power BI integrations, exportable reports, and connections to other systems make it a stand-alone ERP solution. Finding another system capable of doing this would be a good find. Head above the others. In-system emailing. Import/export of data to and from anywhere.
PeopleSoft is much more appropriate for large organizations than the software programs listed here. I'm involved in a project to bring billing and accounts receivable functions out of "shadow systems" like those listed here and into PeopleSoft, and PeopleSoft is more robust, flexible, and standardizable. We've found it to be an excellent solution.
From my understanding, the P.O. module is not very robust, at least the last time I inquired about it. At the time, it had a one-to-one match, with one invoice for one P.O. and that isn't practical for many businesses. I don't believe it would be an easy system to use for sending out invoices, if we had thousands of retail utility customers. We do a small number of invoices because we sell wholesale power, not retail, so we only Invoice the municipality. Not each utility customer.
They are very responsive and knowledgeable about the product. If the rep doesn't have the ability to solve the issue, they quickly get someone else involved to assist us.
I feel like I am not using it to it's potential and it's frustrating to know that it can do more than I am able to use and more help with that would be great
The implementation was a lot of customize building and I felt like some of it could have been built by my partner rather than having them sit and watch me enter a bunch of stuff, especially when a lot of it was over my head in understanding
Provides better controls to ensure that spend does not increase beyond the PO amount.
sPro reverse invoicing provides a mechanism to only pay our staff aug firms for only the hours that entered into PeopleSoft. There is no more reconciliation between the vendor invoices and the hours that were charged within the internal time tracking system.
PeopleSoft Financials increases employee efficiency through the use of dashboards and work centers.
