Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica

We just went live with the manufacturing and accounting portions of Acumatica. Our biggest issues we want to resolve was the fact that we are a start up and have many different systems that did not communicate with each other. This created duplication of entries and lots of manual work.
  • Report writing
  • Intercompany transactions
  • Cash transactions
  • 3 way matching with the actual invoice, not an AP bill created when the product is received
  • Better canned reports that run account balances including the beginning balance to the right of each transaction like one would expect
  • More online detailed training from Acumatica on the step by step ways to create more reports (beyond the 350 class) and how to create and structure a generic inquiry for dummies

I would highly recommend it, but it would come off it the caveat that the VAR is really important for success. We did not have a VAR who was strong in the support and implentation process. Having consultants who undertstand the whole system and not just one silo is an essential.

Using Acumatica

10 - Accounting and Supply chain, so we are using the manufacturing and finance modules currently. Our supply chain places orders, receives and manages inventory while the accounting/finance associates perform all accounting and reporting functions.
2 - We are still figuring it out. Currently the Finance and Supply chain directors are the system admins.

I was not an employee when the system was selected.
We would not have chosen the VAR we used without requiring references. They would not provide any!! That should have been a red flag.

Acumatica Implementation

Our VAR was terrible
  • Third-party professional services
SWK and a lot of in house self training because their finance guy was not knowledgeable and only wanted to do the easy things. He also refused to turn on sub-accounts and Ben though he new for more than 6 months that we wanted to use departments

Did not know you can buy support from Acumatica
Yes! Yesterday I spoke with Jeff and Scott at the Summit and told them about our lack of support and knowledge from our VAR and how our assigned finance consultant did not understand the credit card d set up and had us load bank transactions before ensuring it was completely setup leaving us with two months of junk transactions that need to be deleted. He never got back with us about cleaning them up (over a month has gone by). Jeff went and got his laptop and pulled up the screens and showed me where and what to do in less than 2 minutes! He let me record it and then sent me the info I need to make sure it is set up correctly before we load again. I was able to get the junk deleted just as quickly and was so happy to finally have this fixed!!

Using Acumatica

Still trying to figure out a lot. Having online courses that teach non sequel people how to write a GI step by step for a few difference scenarios would be great. More column set training.
