Acumatica is great for mid to large size organizations that need a fully integrated solution and many modules. The software is very robust and they are always adding more features and functionality to the product. So as your business grows the product does too. It's not like other ERP solutions that I've worked with that rarely improve.

Financial reporting is sometimes tricky in our field because
some oil and gas fields are depleted, and the standard methods of activating
abandoned oil wells will have high-cost variability. Therefore, in this scenario, Workday Financial Management made internal financial reporting statements pretty seamless, where initial
bid and field cost can be incorporated very easily in an asset-wise manner.
Also, cloud-based sharing was never a problem, and our lease operators never had
a problem understanding which reports belong to which asset.

  • Expense reporting - enabled by a smartphone, you can image receipts and create claims quickly
  • Chart of accounts - being able to drill down in an expense category to see the individual claims that make up the total is helpful
  • Reporting - I appreciate the ability to pull a standard report and export to Excel quickly and easily

  • Workday is very organized and user friendly. I haven't heard this from any of my co workers that they faced a hard time navigating around or getting technical support.
  • The platform offers variety of options for the company to offer to their employees. This includes easy access to their time off balance, hours they have worked, and accessing pay stubs any time.
  • One of the biggest thing I notice on a lot of technical platforms is that they don't notify their users of any updates they may be making on their website but workday does a great job of notifying its user way ahead of time of any updates they may be doing

  • Email integration: Horribly clunky, requires users to share email password with Acumatica to allow use of outbound emails. Should be using a more secure method like access tokens.
  • Expense approval process: Once expense claims are approved, approvers (depending on role) can no longer see the approved/denied claims. Denial of claims requires a manual email/call to submitter instructing them to correct and resubmit the claim.
  • CRM: Allow for tracking of cases by the opportunity in addition to business accounts. This would allow for more accurate tracking of issues related to specific opportunities.

  • We were surprised by the lack of user guides and supporting information for day-to-day users. Granted, we could find this, but our users like guides.
  • The system could improve with contact help and chat functions if you need the answers quickly. We figured this would all have been built in.
  • Quite surprised by the lack of treasury management functionality. SAP and Oracle have it, although their modules are not that comprehensive or user friendly.

      Workday is easy enough navigate, as long as it is properly set up. With that said, it can be put together in a modular fashion as well, allowing for a very high degree of flexibility in terms of design and process delegation. Finally, it makes consolidation achievable in times previously unthinkable.

      Acumatica

      Acumatica trumps over QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions in many ways. First, Acumatica being in the cloud has given us agility in accessing the platform anywhere and anytime. Second, the dashboard creation feature of Acumatica has given us the ability to customize each dashboard of each of our employees. Lastly, the CRM solution of Acumatica enables us to track, manage, and monitor our sales team.
