Agency Analytics

Agency Analytics is one of the best website rank tracking tools that I have used so far. I feel like it shows a great amount of insight into the fluctuation of ranking over time. This tool is extremely helpful for B2B marketing agencies where you need to be able to show progress to your clients. Also, the ability to see the results in a live SERPs page gets rid of the trouble of showing a client the live result when you're not next to each other.

BrightEdge

For us, this has been a huge improvement over agency help. We may have just had bad experiences with agencies, but we did have two of them that billed us for non-action, so my view is a little skewed. BE has allowed us to learn and make changes on the fly and we have seen our ranking increase in ways and areas we would never have thought of before. They are a great team to work with and have made SEO easier to understand and influence for me as I had no hands-on experience beforehand.

Pros

  • I love the keyword "pool" system that Agency Analytics uses. We purchase a certain number of keywords (6,000) and then we can spread those across our accounts as we see fit. If we need more keywords for another company, we can remove them from an existing one without losing them. That also means that we can change keywords, add keywords, and remove keywords instantly from reports without waiting 30 days for them to re-run.
  • The customizability of the dashboard is new and awesome. We are able to create dashboard templates to use for our clients that shows exactly what we want it to. It also allows us to add text and links to explain certain aspects that might not be readily understandable to people outside the industry.
  • I also really appreciate the ability to send clients their own logins to the site. We add clients in as users to view their own reports at any time.
  • Agency Analytics runs results all day long and allows you to hover over the result to view more information as well as click to view the result in the SERPs.

  • BrightEdge does a good job with reporting.
  • It is fairly easy to create Dashboards that can be customized for what you want to see.
  • One of the newer features of BrightEdge, called Insights, can be helpful if you just have a few minutes to spend in the platform and want to find a couple of quick revisions that you can make on your website.

Cons

  • There is so much available data, it can be difficult to sort through it and know what is most helpful and relevant.
  • The social media piece is nice to have, but not a deep resource for those who need more than it offers.
Jason Montoya profile photo
  • The setup process can be very confusing and long
  • There is much to do when setting up your website; it takes too long and some steps feel unnecessary sometimes
  • Even though the Datacube is very useful sometimes, its information might not be 100% accurate; for some keywords, it showed that competition was low when clearly the competition with high-volume keywords that are not long-tailed are usually very difficult to go for
  • BrightEdge was picking up pages and showing errors as duplicate content that we went to corroborate with Google's Search Console and there was no duplicate content showing.

This rating is not dependent upon specifically BrightEdge. While the overall satisfaction with the product is very high, we want to ensure we are using the best product for our specific needs so it's part of our consideration process to test new platforms and tools before renewing

Once versed in the navigation and use of the tool it is quite manageable, but the initial training can be difficult for some users.

I have had ZERO negative interactions with BE. Everyone has been incredibly helpful and timely. OUR CSM is very attentive to our success as was our on-boarding specialist. Whenever I have questions or concerns they are quick to respond and always have a solution for our issues or have answers to my questions. They have been p[patient and understanding of my non-workable knowledge coming into this and have helped me grow my skill set and understanding of SEO strategies.

For the most part it was seamless. The load time of clients was a little long, but otherwise was quite easy.

Alternatives Considered

I've used Moz fairly extensively and I've found Agency Anaytics overall is a better tool for managing and monitoring keywords and SEO improvement opportunities. It's easy to use, quick to set up and less expensive than Moz.

When you signup for a platform - you don't just have access to the platform. You get a person that is there with you the entire time! A person that you can call and say - Hey the SERPs changed - what does this mean? BrightEdge has never let me down in this light. Yet when I have spoken with Conductor folks in the past - I was really disappointed in the amount of experience the reps had in explaining their own software. How can I trust another platform - when their own reps can't explain how something works. Any platform I use - sure they can come up with their own algo and put their own values to it - but as an SEO manager - I need to understand that process. Also the UX in BrightEdge is fantastic when you stack it up against Conductor. I believe even the number of features BrightEdge has dwarfs Conductor.

Return on Investment

  • Quickly allows me to see the effectiveness of our digital efforts.
  • Allows us to see and react to situations where we are regressing in our efforts.
  • Allows us to see opportunities for improvement. As we make these changes, we find our conversion goes up.

  • BrightEdge allows my team to pull insights and respond to client questions quickly and efficiently - helping us maintain a great client relationship.
  • This tool helps us easily identify the impact that SEO has had on their business with regard to search visibility and site engagement.
  • BrightEdge's clean and clear reporting per keyword and per keyword group allows trends to be easily identified and extracted for reporting purposes.
