Insightly

Insightly is perfect for small business owners who are not that tech savvy. It is also well known for its ease-of-use so if you aren't sure how to use a full-blown CRM this is a great place to be. Overall my business partner doesn't want to go back to a complicated system like Zoho CRM that was difficult to understand.

Cons

  • While many aspects of the software are intuitive and simple to implement, much of the marketing automation functions assumed a level of technical familiarity that was beyond the average user. As soon as a tutorial tells me to get something from GitHub, I get the idea they're talking to a technician.
  • The help files, tutorials were of low quality and not always kept up to date with changes in layout of the software etc.
  • During the period we were using Agile CRM, I had to constantly trawl through their update logs and forum. This is because, as the name Agile suggests, the development and improvement of the software was constantly evolving in an organic fashion. But many of the developments were not relevant to us; majorly they were integrations with obscure apps that I would never use. But I had to understand 20 changes to locate the one that had some relevance to me.

  • PLEASE add a DocuSign module! It is the only real reason we have considered other CRM companies!
  • Some of the workflow from completing a task but then checking off a task as done is a bit awkward and cumbersome.
  • Would love to be able to add more than 15 business cards per month. Do not want to upgrade for that alone.

The training sessions are very helpful, because you have specialist that is available to answer any questions, guide you and coach you on how to dominate a certain feature of the platform. That being said,Whenever I have an issue that needs to be resolved, I can send email or call a support line. I usually use the support line.

Knock on wood... I haven't had any difficulties with Insightly's availability to-date. I mostly use it on my desktop and infrequently access via my Android phone. No access issues.

Each section of the AgileCRM platform has an instructional video that describes in detail all of the features of that section. I found this to be very instructional way to learn about each section. Whenever I had more questions, I could always schedule a conference call with a tutor..

I've used Insightly's online training &/ or learned as I went. I've found the blogs and online written material helpful. I've also attended a few webinars, which can be useful if you use a J-I-T approach so as not to overwhelm you (or your staff) with functionality that you are using just yet. The fact that it's all available on their website and you can learn at your own pace is invaluable

Alternatives Considered

Agile CRM did most of what PipeDrive did, some of what Hubspot does, and a range of other stuff that I was starry eyed about at the outset. but I eventually concluded that a jack-of-all-trades was not what i was looking for. And while the support team tried, they didn't have English as their first language and weren't on my time zone so all those factors conspired to turn me off on the end.

It's far better than the others that I've tried, and I've tried them all. The last three I used, Goldmine, Zoho and FreeCRM, all had holes in their capability or enormous overhead cost that wasn't worthwhile for our level of business. With Insightly, we can have a better grasp on our operation without breaking the bank to get there. It's allowing us to grow.

This products Starts with a free Limited version. You can upgradeTo an affordable paid version with minimal features. There's also an enterprise version which is what I have. It's much more expensive, however it allows me to access the full range of features available.

Return on Investment

  • It may be me but I spent a disproportionate amount of time figuring out how to derive more ROI from Agile CRM. The functionality and facilities were there but I eventually gave up as it was taking too much time and attention.

  • The most important effect that Insightly has had on our company is the unified organization of information available to the entire company. If someone leaves the company, or is just out sick, all of the info for their clients and their projects is available for management to use to keep business moving. For instance, I was called away for a family emergency and forgot to reschedule an in-house demo with a client. When the client showed up, my boss (the CEO of the Company) was able to review the client file, read the notes on the product demo and the client's needs and he was able to perform the demo himself. All of the information was right there to get him up to speed on why our client was there and what they needed.
  • Efficiency is the next major positive impact that Insightly has brought. As a small, yet growing company, our employees have to be able to wear multiple hats and perform variety of functions. Insightly has brought such organization to my life that I am now able to keep much better track of all my daily tasks and in fact get so much more done in less time. My efficiency and productivity have increased dramatically.
