[I believe] if you do not want to get your phone calls. If you do not want to get your voice mails. If you want to spend hours on the phone or on email trying to get issues resolved that seldom get resolved for as long as you have the service, then this is the company for you. And if you want all of your employees complaining to you that their phones do not work, and you want to lose money due to missing phone calls (lost business, etc) sign up at Office at Hand, [I think] they will not disappoint you in the things listed above.

RingCentral Meetings

If you need to meet with others on a daily basis via a virtual platform, RingCentral Meetings is a great tool that can help with that need. The tool allows you to easily send and invite people to join your meeting. If you find yourself not needing the tool as often, it might not be the right tool for you because of the higher cost.

Pros

AT&T Office@Hand

  • It can handle multiple simultaneous voices very efficiently.
  • Access across multiple devices seamlessly.
  • The voice clarity is not compromised at all.

RingCentral Meetings

  • Screen sharing is wonderful in [RingCentral] Meetings. It makes presenting easy.
  • Being able to mute and turn off cameras when necessary is a nice feature too.
  • Switching from the computer to the cell phone when on the go is a nice benefit.

Cons

AT&T Office@Hand

  • It can include the video facility as well making it a wholesome experience for users.
  • It sometimes malfunctions when the limited number of participants exceed.
  • Early logins create an unwanted advantage to some participants. It should not be.

RingCentral Meetings

  • The mobile app has a habit of logging you out without you knowing.
  • The invite feature should be clearer for first time users, we have had clients who needed extra support to get going for their first meeting.
  • Switching back and forth between the mobile and desktop apps is not very intuitive.

We are grandfathered into an unlimited toll-free minutes plan with RingCentral, so as long as we have them as a VoIP provider, we get Meetings free. If they ever start to charge us for using meetings as well, we'll drop that part in a second and switch to Skype for Business, which we currently have as well part of our Office 365 package.

The interface is easy to understand for a wide variety of user experience levels. The only real negative are the links included in meetings being in a format that first opens a browser before launching the RingCentral Meeting app, and as mentioned previously, this may be a platform-specific issue for macOS.

When it comes to the support side of RingCentral Meetings, they are top notch, been doing this with their phone system for a long time. Nothing bad to say or mention about that. Only thing the time it takes to get support sometimes can be a little frustrating. However, they always have the right/helpful answer for you.

Alternatives Considered

AT&T Office@Hand

Horrible. Collaberate was a little slow at times in responding, but they never just left us hanging with unresolved issues. I am now going with a local guy so I do not have to deal with this stuff. I get very irritated when I am transferred to someone over seas that English is not their first language, and they are working off of a script.Although some of them were more helpful than my assigned migration person.

RingCentral Meetings

RingCentral Meetings has all the standard features one comes to expect from a virtual meeting software. The subscription prices are far for what you get and the service is reasonable. However I still feel the Cisco Webex interface is more streamlined and easier to use. I have never been a big fan of the RingCentral Meetings smartphone interface

Return on Investment

AT&T Office@Hand

  • There has been not one positive thing I can say about Office at Hand.
  • [I feel] they have been nothing but an issue.
  • My assigned customer service rep [seems to be] lacking if follow-up, follow through, knowledge of the product, and just seems to not care.
  • When I get his boss, I usually get some resolution, but only some, and then I pushed by her back to him.
  • Believe nothing they say and carve out hours to deal with them on the phone or by email.

RingCentral Meetings

  • The big benefit for us is that, because RingCentral Meetings is included as part of our RingCentral account, we don't have to pay another vendor on top of our existing fees to get support for a consistent, company-wide web conferencing system.
  • In some cases, we've found that our clients prefer using our Meetings platform to their own in-house systems, which are usually things like Skype, WebEx, etc.
  • On the flip side, RingCentral until recently hasn't had great support for room-to-room solutions, and so we ended up implementing LifeSize for that - so internally we still have to semi-competing platforms in play. Their room solution relies on 3rd party hardware and peripherals, and so is time consuming to get set up and working easily.
