Learning Management
Comparison of Learning Management features of Product A and Product B
A school with a well-established technology imprint with their students (for example, ours is a BYOB school where every student has their own laptop and must bring it to school every day and where over 99% of our families have reliable broadband at home) is a reasonable scenario for using The arrogance and intransigence of the sales force is quite disconcerting… They are no longer the only game in town and don't yet realize it. Less well-off schools/families may find it a challenge if students must be on campus or at a public library in order to use the technology. Obviously, during the pandemic, this became problematic for some districts.
LinkedIn Recruiter is better suited in terms of the filters it provides to search for a pool of candidates. Features like past and current companies, past universities, or years of experience, AI Search, and AI message drafting do wonders in terms of recruitment. But some more filters can be added, which will help further in recruitment. For example, Boolean search in job titles, targeting specific keywords in recent experience, etc.
I've been a recruiter for more than 20 years, and I simply can't imagine working without Modern Hire at this point. Modern Hire has greatly increased my efficiency, leaving me more time to build relationships with candidates and hiring leaders. I can focus more on the consultative part of my position as opposed to spending time on administrative functions that Modern Hire easily handles.
Blackboard Learn makes submitting assignments electronically simple and provides a variety of built-in Web-based tools like e-portfolios, wikis, and blogs that our students use to create their own content.
Blackboard Learn is intuitive and easy to navigate from a students perspective
Blackboard Learn has many integrations available for connecting this LMS to other tools we use at our institution.
Allows prospective candidates to prepare for and submit recorded responses to established interview questions when it is most-convenient for their schedule (without having to take time off fro their current job, skip lunch, etc.).
Modern Hire [formerly Montage] offers the ability to conduct both recorded and live video interviewing, allowing the flexibility to adopt whatever approach best fits the culture of the organization, the specific role, etc. We are finding that recorded interviews are terrific for initial or screening, and are great to then share with a hiring manager if there needs to be any calibration between s/he & HR/Talent Acquisition. The live interviews allow us to conduct interviews with candidates who may be applying from outside reasonable driving distance to the nearest Caravan Health office, while still providing an ability to observe important nonverbal cues of candidates.
Customer support is strong, even offering a "concierge service" which is basically like having an extension of our IT department on the line/logged-in with us to ensure there are no technical issues during the interview.
There are several aspects of Desire2Learn that outweigh the benefits of using Blackboard. I find that the Desire2Learn system is a bit more user friendly and looks more up-to-date. However, the decision to renew systems is not up to me because the entire University uses the same system. Regardless, I think I would choose Desire2Learn over Blackboard because of its improved user interface.
It is very usable for both faculty and students. The interface is pretty intuitive and most students can use it without a lot of additional training. Faculty do need some training to effectively use the interface, but they usually get it pretty quickly. We have had to create some additional programming to give faculty a way to delve deeper into the content.
This portals helps to source the profile directly from the LinkedIn where I don't need to check the resume and LinkedIn separately every time. LinkedIn Recruiter is the best platform for posting the job effortlessly. It requires only few details and we can get response quicker.
My Blackboard support comes from the university I work with. They are responsive--eventually... but it takes them sometimes a week to respond to a reported issue. For example, I reported 2 issues last week and one was resolved and I was contacted about one still open option today. That is too long for a tech issue. I have not contacted any support offered directly by Blackboard, which may be a completely different experience altogether.
I would revert to my previous answer where it has been an amazing support to our business speed, scalability, and support. My main concern has been data integrity which can affect and has affected our client relations.
Coursera offers a variety of modules in which a team is able to work on then, but [Blackboard Learn] offers more options to understand how are the team members developing and which tasks have offered a harder challenger for them. [Blackboard Learn] also offers a variety of reports that can be generate by a team lead.
SeekOut has a diversity filter, which I like. They also list some candidates that are not on LinkedIn, but ultimately SeekOut routes me to LinkedIn. So technically SeekOut allows me to screen for filters that LinkedIn does not, but I actually end up using LinkedIn Recruiter to manage and communicate with the candidates.
Modern Hire is comparable to all and [does not need] to [be] downloaded, [which adds] convenience. Modern Hire is our company-sponsored platform so I would not be able to select which platform the company uses.
At one of the institutions that I worked for, the ROI was excellent for the number of users we were serving; however, I could not speak to other instances as I was not aware of the overall cost of the contract.
