The Keepit platform, from the company of the same name in Copenhagen, is a solution that protects cloud data, boasting simple deployment and restore options that enable users to recover historic data. The Keepit platform supports any Cloud Workload and offers full retention on the user's terms from one year to eternity. It features indexing and search to ensure users have a complete view of data. The solution features supports Microsoft Office 365, Dynamics 365, Google Workspace, and…
The competitors offer a cloud solution, but in more of a clouded document management way. There is no way to live edit files with Carbonite Safe. Dropbox and OneDrive offer you the ability to open the file and use it from the cloud.
Carbonite Safe is the only one that I know of that is autonomous. The other solutions require the user to place things in a certain spot or to copy it manually. Carbonite Safe is "set it and forget it".
We use Easus backup as our on site backup solution. Carbonite is definitely in line with what the industry is offering, with the added reliability of multiple offsite storage locations. I am not sure of a company with as good a reputation.
Carbonite Server's direction wasn't really for cloud companies as they are more specialized in robust local backup services. I'm a novice when it comes to server backups and replication, but have learned and picked up a lot from talking to the customer center compared to Veeam …
As the Carbonite Server Backup tool is one of the best among all backup tools in the market, we like to opt it for several customers. It's very user friendly and most reliable. Deployment part and support is also good.
We migrated from NetBackup as we wanted to get rid of our Tape library and media used. We also compared with Veeam to replace the Carbonite server backup. We changed our plan, as we needed storage. It is not in our budget. We continued with Carbonite as they are cheaper in …
We originally used a backup product from Microsoft. It was so glitchy and difficult to set up. We spent a lot of time on the phone with their tech team trying to get it to work. They would come up with different reasons and fixes but in the end, it couldn't do the job so we …
Carbonite Safe is a great solution for startup entities. It ranks nicely with Acronis and Carbonite Server Backup. Carbonite Safe is very good for backing up workstations including home computers. This is a good solution for home office users. Acronis does image level backups …
Amazon Cloud Drive deleted TONS of photos I backed up years ago. I'll never trust it again. I liked Dropbox better than Box b/c of its interface and intuitiveness. Google Drive is easy but doesn't back up automatically.
We used Symantec before EVault and our backups were large and took a long time. We were not confident in incremental backups given the amount of data we have, so we needed something that would take a backup and then only grab the changes. Carbonite EVault does that for us.
We're in the financial industry, so there are certain standards that we make sure we're following. Outsourcing that role to a specialist in the area helps lighten our work load to we can concentrate on day-to-day business activities and not outside regulations. Flexibility, …
We have looked at Symantec Backup Exec and actually use it for some of our less important systems. We are currently taking a look at Veeam as an alternative to EVault because of the real-time replication to live machines that Veeam may be able to provide. But so far, EVault has …
We have not used or evaluated other similar products. My only experience in disaster recovery involved backing up to tapes and taking those tapes to an off-site location to restore the system, which was a much longer process.
I have used HP Data Protector in the past - prefer EVault because I value the cloud solution for its ease of use and reliability. Like the online portal to manipulate backups because it provides mobility. Also like EVault central control software which is very easy to use just …
Product was in place before I started working here. It works well for us because the cost was low and it supported our applications and operating systems. We will be evaluating backup and recovery within 12 months to see if EVault is still the best product for us.
Went out of business but they had a sweet appliance that could be moved and the agents could still find it through a cloud/web site that directed it to it's serial number. Made it great to backup laptops too since they moved around and it wasn't always possible to reconfigure …
Mozy Pro is a great product for entry level and small businesses. It provides simple, effective backups with little to no technical expertise being required by the end users to benefit from it. I found that Code42's CrashPlan, was better when our storage needs increased …
We first used Keepit when it was badged as a veritas product and evaluated it against a few different products. We found Keepit really easy to use and hassle free in our testing.
Keep it is simpler, more economical, and easy to use. It has a well-made stand and lets you store your files wherever you want. I use it frequently and am immensely satisfied with my choice. The interface is simple and searches are easy; other options were much more expensive …
We focused on simplicity, data residency, and cost. Keepit stood out as the best option across all three. We didn’t want to manage or worry about where data was stored, as with tools like Veeam, and we didn’t need the extra features that came with platforms like Rubrik. Keepit …
When we were comparing the two solutions, Veeam still had an on-premise backup solution for M365 on which we needed to provide our own storage, be it in the cloud or on-prem. This ment extra cost. Keepit was fully SaaS and came with their own storage. After a POC we decided on …
Several years ago, we compared Keepit to the cloud-to-cloud backup solutions from Rubrik and Barracuda. At that time, Keepit offered the most features for Microsoft Exchange, including calendar download, task recovery, task download, preview, and PST file download. Keepit …
Most coolest feature I like as an admin is that you are able to look native in the webbrowser the backup data files. Other backup SaaS-Solutions like AvePoint doesn't offer this. Also Keepit has a easy to look on product roadmap what new features will come in future.
Keepit appeared to be less messy in the admin interface compared to AvePoint, and also more easy to setup. AvePoint went too much in sub-menus as Keepit has a more simple approach which led to quicker actions and setup. Also Keepit is based in EU which is a big point for GDPR …
We chose Keepit largely because it offered comprehensive Entra ID coverage (including Conditional Access policies, roles, apps, and logs) with predictable pricing and broad M365 workload support, all delivered via a SaaS model that reduced overhead and eliminated on‑premises …
We previously used Veeam to backup data from O365 to local servers. We had other SaaS platforms we needed to include and move from local to cloud backups. While Veeam does have multiple cloud options but compared with Keepit it was overly complicated and less cost effective. …
The price is better, the installation is much more simple. Keepit simply doesn't require any resources and the maintenance is simply zero. You literally don't need to do anything
Mozy Pro is a great fit, especially for small businesses that don't want to pursue a very large number of licenses, and don't have many TB of data to backup. The price per user is reasonable, and well within the budget of smaller businesses needing workstation backup solutions. For larger enterprises, there are other products that provide a lot more storage and better performance. We found Code42's product to be better for larger data backup needs.
Any company that deals with the retention of important data should have Keepit to ensure operational security and data confidentiality. In scenarios such as using file servers in SharePoint, Teams, or Google Workspace, it's a tool that offers complete integration and helps save IT a lot of time on security incidents or human errors in file deletion. The fact that it only restores what is not in the folder, or backs up each version of the file given the snapshot date you choose, is fantastic. Performance Settings: Mozy can be configured to run very smoothly in the background with minimal performance degradation. It provides network bandwidth throttling, backup speed, and backing up only when idle option. From my own experience I usually do not notice any performance degradation when Mozy is running. Of course a good network or Internet connection is vital.
Restore: file restoration is simple and intuitive. The user can restore logical backup sets (e.g. all photos) or file based (select the folder or file you want restored). Files and folders can be restored with the latest version or earlier version. Rename and overwrite options provide further flexibility.
Sync: with Mozy you can sync file across multiple devices including mobile. Access to your corporate files via smart phone is a secure manner is very useful.
The eVault process is so thorough, sometimes a simple deployment can take much longer than a customer expects.
Their solutions in the past have been targeted to mid-sized to enterprise sized budgets. They now have solutions to fit the small business, but don't market them well.
Providing more information on an ongoing restore job. Once you begin a restore or a data import, it seems to be impossible to see which user account that job is tied to.
Its job percentages seem to be drastically inaccurate. It will say a job is 76% complete even though it has only restored 484MB of 8GB - but this is just a little annoying and not a real problem.
Carbonite Server Backup does not integrate or support any reporting; it is not good at it. We required monthly and quarterly reports for audit. If we fail in that we get fined or we have to pay a certain amount of money to customer. It does not support cloud instances and we are using N2WS for the cloud instances. This is an additional burden for customers.
Keepit is an awesome product that garantees a result with a simple interface, and a quick configuration integration. Nowadays the service is really good and all requests have been replied to very quickly, and that´s important for our satisfaction. The possibility of multiple points recovery is a plus as well.
Out of all the vendor we deal with they are one of the best when it comes to customers service. Reliable, you can reach them by telephone easily, Great overall can not say anything to the contrary. Usibility is excellent. I recommend them highly whether you need a simple backup ofr more complex for servers etc.
Such a simple solution to use. User friendly, intuitive, processes can be completed in minutes instead of hours with restoring from tape, and requesting the return of tapes from the off site location, thus saving many hours and cost of storage. Also gives the end user a better experience as files can be restored almost immediately.
I usually find what I need to know by looking in the Carbonite knowledge base online. We haven't had any major problems, usually we just need clarification on a point or more details about a feature so we look it up. We haven't had to call in for help in quite awhile.
Support helped us to set up SSO and MFA with our Azure AD Accounts. Once when the backup was failing, they could help us to investigate the reason and find a stale account that was preventing the backup. They are really concerned that the backup works and not only want to close the ticket like other support hotlines.
The communication from KeepIT was on point, we did the implementation based on very little information as it was so easy to deploy, yet super powerful, it is a great tool.
Carbonite Server's direction wasn't really for cloud companies as they are more specialized in robust local backup services. I'm a novice when it comes to server backups and replication, but have learned and picked up a lot from talking to the customer center compared to Veeam where it's mostly just self-learning reading lots of documentation which could be overwhelming at times. We started using Veeam as most of our on-prem servers are ceasing operations as we slowly transition to the cloud. I would still use Carbonite as a fall-back option just in case the cloud fails us. Our company cannot afford to have downtimes as we work closely with a lot of contractors and every minute counts.
We focused on simplicity, data residency, and cost. Keepit stood out as the best option across all three. We didn’t want to manage or worry about where data was stored, as with tools like Veeam, and we didn’t need the extra features that came with platforms like Rubrik. Keepit offers a focused solution that fits our needs very well.
While EVault can become expensive if you have a lot of data to store, but you have to keep in mind that it does not cost you anything more to restore your data in the event of an emergency. Some systems give you a great upfront cost, until you actually need to retrieve your data.
