ClickUp vs. Zenhub

Small to mid size startups can get real benefits from clickup, where accountability & organization is getting started. Creating tickets for each client in the beginning would be overwhelming, but very necessary as scale is attained, and clickup is THE platform for this. Jira *A direct competitor) might feel overwhelming or legacy coded due to its target of MNC being their customers. A new age platform like clickup can be used. The breadth it serves from project tracking to time-wise reports & alerts are useful for startups like mine

Zenhub is incredible for the below areas: Burndown Charts, Release Reports, Velocity Tracking, Control Points Charts, Cumulative Flow Diagrams And if there is a bottleneck in your workflow, ZenHub identifies it. The most important aspect is serving as a collaboration tool for areas that are impeding implementation projects. For example when working with non-standard ERPs and having to document ERP integrations this tool is very helpful

• ZenHub continually adds to its reporting suite-- that truly allows you to track forward motion and see what issues may be the cause of any delays.
• Both our technical and non-technical staff can understand and use the functionality.
• We like the flexibility of being able to provide labels to our stories that can be customized to the way our company does things--- such as knowing if an epic is part of a module or a stream.
• We also like the flexibility of the number and labeling of the pipelines--- again, very adaptable to our organization.
• The filtering is very useful--- with and/or conditions, and allows people on different projects, doing different functions, an easy way to view what is important to them.

• Maps functionality is basic, would be great for it to help with routing logic and daily planning.
• Keeping track of task default locations when working on the fly can sometimes be hard to keep track of, but that's mainly an issue with me letting my AI's via MCP boat the workspace structure.
• Permissions can be confusing and buggy, so you need to monitor and plan them really intentionally; sometimes they'll get mixed up, and your permissions to add fields, delete/access items, etc. can get buggy.

• Sometimes, updates to a GitHub project can get lost if they're made through ZenHub. You do need to open the GitHub project occasionally, as you don't have exactly the same ability to modify issues and milestones from within ZenHub.
• It's great to be able to see your projects from within ZenHub, but sometimes you'll need to check in on the GitHub project itself, as well.
• I've run into some problems with updates getting lost on occasion. I think this happens when you do the update from within ZenHub instead of from GitHub itself. I also don't have quite as much control over my issues or milestones from within ZenHub.

It has been a game-changer in terms of project tracking, as animation is a demanding product that requires multiple layers of analysis, revisions, tracking, scheduling, etc. ClickUp simplifies many approvals as anyone can easily add items, and you can tag the people who need to look at them.

In general, I think the usability is probably great. The reason I didn't give it as high of a score is because at the last 2 companies I worked at, they each used different software. So I was already used to those. Learning their UI isn't hard, but always a little annoying to learn something new.

Once it's up and running it's easy to use. It needs a little consideration to get set up perfectly for your own needs, but that is the same for any feature-rich software.

For over a year ClickUp was unavailable to us just twice for a couple of hours. I would say for a system this big and working globally that was a minor issue. They managed to fix all the issues within a couple hours and then it was back up and running perfectly fine.

The speed of ClickUp is average to be honest. This is one of the biggest flaws of the system, sometimes it's also lagging a little bit but we also have a lot of documents, lists etc. on our workspace. However, with the next version of ClickUp I've seen they are planning to increase the speed by almost 500%, probably by changing the technology, so I am more than looking forward to it.

I started using ClickUp when it was what most would consider a baby company. There were the occasional bugs that made working in ClickUp a little bit of a headache, but the support feature allowed me to chat with a real persona and communicate my issues. I would always get prompt support and someone willing to really help me, not just point me to FAQ pages. Not feeling like a number really makes a difference.

Support is good, but quite honestly, I haven't needed any support since 2015. As I remember, I was required to open a ticket and had to wait a few days for resolution. I give it a rating of 8 because of the lag in getting a solid resolution, but it was resolved adequately.

There are multiple guides on literally all of the functions you can find within the system, therefore it's easy to learn anything you'd really like to use, starting from project and people management, down to Gantts, mind maps, time tracking, inviting Clients as guests to work with you on the projects and so much more.

Start small. Don’t try to build the most elaborate plans first. Resist the urge to get into Gantt charts if no one is used to them. Just get work written, add dates and assignees, and start getting used to it. If you did not use a work management tool before, you need to be gracious with yourself about the fact that you likely do not have the muscle memory for working this way yet. But you will get there.

And leverage people who know it if possible. Look for ClickUp experts and vendors. They can really supercharge your effectiveness at building the tool out and speed up the process.

Way better than competition if you use github because it seamlessly integrates without doing anything. You don't need to duplicate your issues, etc. As long as your devs already use github and github issues this will be a no brainer and simple to implement. With JIRA or Trello we were doing everything twice, things got dropped, etc.

Scaling with ClickUp is superb. If you create a workflow best suited for your organization then it's all about creating new accounts and teaching the new employees the workflow you're using. It's that simple. There is no black magic when it comes to Clickup.

• Before ClickUp at my agency, we were using spreadsheets to track our client work. ClickUp made it all so much easier and more effective.
• It helps me track down to the smallest details so I don't miss anything, and it is easy to view the information I need when I need it
• I don't really have quantifiable numbers but I can't imagine going back to spreadsheets or what other terrible alternative we may be using otherwise!
