Pros
Coda
  • Flexibility. It's easy to get started on a small scale, but add more complex organization strategies as needed.
  • Integrations. It's simple to ingest data from sources like Zapier for time-saving automations.
  • Useful components. View table data across different formats like cards or custom detail views.

  • High-quality, high-impact communications in our workflow.
  • It's great for sharing large documents, it doesn't slow down our communications.
  • The dark mode is excellent, it has a good image and seamless integration features.
  • We can record meetings, which is perfect for backing up any information that may be overlooked.

Cons
Coda
  • It takes getting used to in terms of how the formulas per column is implemented, in contrast to how we build tables in Excel. For organization/team purchase, it would be worth considering having a training for the core team of users. Right now, we do a lot of self-learning.
  • Inability to email charts or image without these objects being hosted on a third party. The community has been great in providing workarounds but it would be much more convenient to be able to have such ability natively.
  • APAC Support. I'm based in Malaysia, due to timezone differences, even with a livechat implemented, the support for each step and conversation takes up to 24 hours per response. Having some hours covered in our timezone would greatly improve customer support experience.

  • The UI could have been more interactive and smart
  • The loading time of the app when opening first time or after an update is very long, this should be fixed
  • In case of network failure, the app does not show whether it is still connected or not, a random stopping of the audio and video cannot be an indication of which side the network failure has been on

Coda
Coda is definitely something that has been proven to drive positive impact in our organization. We have many divisions that can benefit from this that we have yet to explore. It would definitely be worth renewing.

Webex App is really easy to use, friendly interface and feature rich application. Besides that, there are some few bugs and instability to correct to give a 10 grade in my opinion. The application sometimes lost audio device configuration, specially when used with Microsoft Windows 11. It is somehow annoying behavior, not frequently but it forces you to restart Windows to get it back to normal condition.

Usability
Coda
Coda can seem either really useful or really useless. The extremes of both ends is driven by what our own understanding of what we want to implement. If we lack this understanding, it will be easy to misunderstand Coda's usability especially in the wrong context.

Webex is quite usable, and it is, in fact very easy to use as well. You don't need a lot of documentation to learn how to use the app as it's mostly self-explanatory. The user interface is easy on the eyes, and people can see buttons without issues. Overall, WebEx's front-end design is great and I don't have much issue with it.

Performance
Coda
We haven't done any integrations - the initial part of our experience we found that for docs with complex formulas, the page tends to load slowly but in recent months, Coda has improved and optimized the loading times in general and we generally don't find any problems in terms of speed anymore.

I believe as with any cloud based application or solution that your individual connectivity is key to making the product a success. WebEx works will with just about any internet connection from cellular to WiFi

Support Rating
Coda
Mainly due to timezone differences. I think Coda's support in general is well implemented and executed. They know their stuff and are helpful. But since I'm not in the same timezone, solution rates are slower for me, and that's not something I prefer. I work in customer service, too, and more often than not, time is important. Shortening the solution time would be a much greater experience.

It's a fantastic product, but nothing is perfect, and there's always room for improvement, hence the 9/10. The integrations, the application available from the application itself, and API make this a well-supported solution for any organisation. Cisco also allows you to raise support cases specifically for Webex App (subject to support contracts, I presume), ensuring that these go to the correct team after opening the case.

I am very satisfied with my experience with Webex App in online training. The creation of the event is very easy with the possibility of scheduling it in advance. The management of participants, organizers, and animators is complete. The invitations are automated and by simply using emails we can create all the schedules of the training session

Very easy to create. All operations are done without any problems with our business growth. All people like the experience including me as an instructor. The tools that WebEx App offers us are very complete for working in a virtual classroom, whether it is sharing the screen, the different display modes, the whiteboard, or even the scoring tools on the screen, it allows me to do my job as an instructor as if I was face to face with the participants.

Alternatives Considered
Coda
While all of the products listed have great features and platforms, there was always one thing missing from them that I would need to get from another application. Coda was the first one we used that really combined some of the best parts of those products and allowed us to use it in one place. I also appreciate the flexibility of creating your own framework and workflow, unlike in other tools where you have to follow how they capture data and organize projects.

I had to choose Webex App, my company uses it. It stacks up very poorly in the UI/UX department. The whole app is a mess. If it wasn’t a mess it would’ve taken over as the app of the pandemic. It needs a fundamental redesign. I hate using it.

Scalability
Coda
I think scalability is definitely good here since it's based on number of doc makers. Implementation into each dept becomes simpler. That being said, due to the nature of our work, we find it easier that we have a "super user" and then a team of other doc makers. This would make the doc creation and management more efficient.
