Let's Colaborate on that with Webex Teams!
Overall Satisfaction with Webex App
To collaborate on projects and quick chats in our department. I do wish more of our company would adopt it as I believe it is a great tool for collaboration between people and to stop the back-and-forth emails that get lost, and some people don't know how to use reply-all when they need to, and the discussion chain gets lost in email. This keeps everything for that project in one spot and the ability to start a quick meeting and/or whiteboard is awesome! We recently moved from Jabber over to Webex and similarity between Jabber and Webex is becoming more and more with every update. There are still quite a few features missing in Webex that we had in Jabber that we do miss.
Pros
- Being able to have it on all of my devices.
- The ability to answer from any device and have the whole conversation there.
- It is free for basic use so anyone can join in the conversation.
- The TAC Connect BOTS is awesome! Any BOT on there is cool.
- Every update they keep surprising me!
Cons
- After moving over to Webex from Jabber, lacking features that were very useful in Jabber
- Not everyone using it!
- Trying to get our users to use it to its full potential!
- The ability to hide the add/left bot comments on a moderated space.
- Still a lot of features from Jabber are missing including Alert when available
- Better Presence status linked with Outlook as far as busy or in a meeting
- If I could get more users to use it on a daily basis I think it would have a bigger impact.
- I think people are old school around here and they don't like change.
- The nice thing is the investment was not that much as it is part of our Flex license agreement
- Hardest part is people that use Microsoft Teams do not want to use Webex.
- Cisco is advancing more and more to have their Room Kits more and more compatible with other platforms
We roughly have about 150 users out of 750, but a lot of our users are in the shop turning wrenches and working on heavy machinery so not always on a computer or phone in hand. A lot of the office staff utilize it. I try more and more every day to get more people to use it.
- Microsoft OneDrive
It was a matter of going into Settings and Integrations and clicking on Add an account for OneDrive. Ya, it was that easy!
We really haven't used or evaluated any other products that compare to Webex (formerly Cisco Spark / Webex Teams) so I can't really compare them. We chose Webex Teams because I tried the free one for a while and when they included it with Webex Meetings it was a no brainer! It works well with our Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity Connections. We started needing to use Microsoft Teams as CAT now moved over to it and with more and more Cisco working with Microsoft it won't be long before you will be able to use any platform and talk to each other. UPDATE: We now use both Microsoft Teams and Webex (Mostly Webex) everyday Microsoft and Cisco are getting closer to being able to use any platform and work together.

Cisco Hybrid Work

- Cisco Secure Endpoint
- Working from an office or other company space
We have always worked Hybrid as we have a lot of Field workers that have to be remote. All of our Office staff has always been in the office as there was never a stay-at-home order as we were considered essential. But I do work from other offices and home when I need to do an install that doesn't require me to be at the office.
Being in Wyoming and as rural as we are, we don't have a lot of Cell coverage, so we have to connect while we can when we have coverage. Our Field Techs have always worked remote and we use Cisco products to collaborate, stay connected and secure when we have coverage.
Now being able to have those ad hoc meetings with Webex, when the field tech has coverage, they can use video conferencing to keep up to date on their projects. We use Cisco's Lineup of Security products to keep us connected, including Cisco AnyConnect, Endpoint Protection, Umbrella, Email Security, and Webex. So, when our people are remote, we feel confident that Cisco will keep us secure.

So, when our people are remote, we feel confident that Cisco will keep us secure. Also for the people that use Webex to collaborate our users are able to message on the fly whether on the PC or on the mobile phone.
We haven't used any other products so I can't say for sure how Cisco products compare to others. But I do know that keeping with one company makes things integrate better as you can call one company, if 2 of their products don't play well together make them fix it.

Cisco Webex Experience
We also use Cisco Jabber and Cisco Webex Meetings. I do feel at some point they will combine Cisco Jabber and Cisco Webex Teams I just wonder which they will primarily go with or if they will continue to advance both to where it doesn't matter which one you have.
I do wish I had a report (and maybe there already is) but a report that showed me usage of Cisco Webex Teams. I do like how easy it is for the user to run it and expand on spaces to their liking. I do like how it is encrypted end to end.
Every update they come out with keeps surprising me! I have not had the pleasure of using the features that are listed but I can't wait to try them. I believe they will be the best! The user friendliness of Cisco Webex Teams has made it easier for our users to use it. I just wish the features they keep talking about would come out sooner so we could all benefit from them!
Using Webex App
61 - It ranges to many of our departments Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Training, PSSRs to IT. The business functions are wide across our company, from customer facing users to employees being the customer. Our Cisco Webex Teams users are able to use it for a wide range of functions for their job.
3 - The types of people or skills required to support Cisco Webex Teams?... let's see here... The people (like myself) that love to put the tools for collaboration in the hands of users! The skills?... As long as your willing to learn anyone can learn how to support Cisco Webex Teams!

- collaboration
- keeping everything together for a project
- not getting things lost in the email shuffle.
- for one off projects
- keeping up with other spaces
- Collaborating with Cisco on different projects through Teams
- may be able to use it as a phone when that portion gets setup
- More and More video calls with users in the field (as long as there is cell coverage)
- More and More of our users actually using it
Evaluating Webex App and Competitors
- Product Features
- Product Usability
- Prior Experience with the Product
- Vendor Reputation
- Existing Relationship with the Vendor
With all the features that come with Cisco Webex Teams and with the background that Cisco as a company has with innovation over the years it was a no brainer to bring Cisco Webex Teams in as it was included with our Cisco Webex Meetings. And as I used the free version before bringing it in to the Company it was an easy sell for me.
The hard part is we are a Caterpillar Dealer and try to follow what the mothership does. They originally had Cisco Webex and so we purchased Cisco Webex. Then they switched to Microsoft Teams so we are starting to use Microsoft Teams more and more. I hope we can keep our investment in Cisco Webex Teams and Cisco and Microsoft will come together and make them cross compatible.
Webex App Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Yes - Well, sort of... We moved from Jabber to Webex, and it was suggested that we pull the trigger and get everyone over at once. Now we still did some stages as we did have Webex and Jabber for a bit of time. and we had to get Webex installed everywhere. SO, it was a project iwth steps, but we did it fast and furious.
- Users not wanting to change
- Features in Jabber not in Webex
Webex App Training
- No Training
I would consider it easy to learn, but then again I work in IT. I have created some of my own internal how-to videos for our users using VidCast.
Configuring Webex App
Work through every option and feature in Webex Control Hub and ask questions, whether it is to your Cisco Rep or TAC, Get it configured to work for you the way you like. Watch YouTube videos and see other people configure and how they utilize it as that may spark how you can configure your environment.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - Not much customization other than adding our Logo and a few links on the left bar for a few users.
No - we have not done any custom code
Not at this time
Webex App Support
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Quick Resolution Good followup Knowledgeable team Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Immediate help available Support understands my problem Support cares about my success Quick Initial Response | None |
Yes
I believe Premium Support is is part of our Cisco Collaboration Flex Plan with Cisco. The ability to just open a Cisco TAC service request and get support quickly is worth whatever we are paying. To us it just seems like it is all part of the plan so we are just paying for a product with good support.
We were at the start of moving over to Cisco Webex Meetings (with Teams) and had an organization issue with our old legacy Webex and with the help of Cisco they got it figured out and we were well on our way to getting users into our new setup. Thank you Cisco!

- Chatting
- creating spaces and inviting people
- gifs make everything better!
- being able to react to chats is great!
- When Webex meetings and Webex teams fight over who is going to control the meeting
- Can't think of anymore
- Sorry
Yes - I really like the Cisco Webex Teams mobile interface as it really is no different from the other interfaces. I like being able to switch between devices and have the same conversation be on all the devices. Being able to pick what notifications you get makes it do you don't get notified with all the spaces you are a part of.
Webex App Reliability
Relationship with Cisco
I am not sure how to answer this.
Remember they are working for you!
Upgrading Webex App
Yes - Mostly the upgrades just happen! I like opening my Webex App and it is telling me it has upgraded and here are the new features!
As long as I am able to revert or uninstall and install the old one if something goes awry, but so far nothing has! There are times though I wish it would pop-up and tell the user they need to restart Webex instead of the little circle on the left.

- Getting closer to being similar to Jabber
- Being closer to being like Jabber
Yes - In the beginning, we used Cisco Spark when it was all Free, Then brought on more Webex Meetings and it was included with it. So we went with it.
