ConnectWise RMM vs. SUSE Observability (StackState)

It did some things well, but it also struggled with some areas, as mentioned. It covered most of the core functions you would expect from an RMM, but it didn't really go above and beyond. I also found that it wasn't innovative enough for my liking, so it would be hard to really recommend this to someone considering what else is out there.

StackState is suitable for 1000+ hosts. Sometimes specific applications can take higher development time. Well suited for hybrid platforms to build end to end service alarms and service views. Advanced UI navigation might require some training. It is not a simple download and deploy software. It will require development in an agile model. Where newer versions are deployed to suit exact client requirements. Support contract with the StackState Engineer for development of use-cases is required and very useful.

• Grouping/Reporting: static organization as well as dynamically and quickly getting inventory and other machine-based information
• Out-sourced teams do a good job of handling small things without much input as long as you are clear and concise.
• Patching is likely the best thing about their platform. Windows patch testing is actually performed in house and they make recommendations for you. Allowing you to push through patches if you know someone needs something. But this is a major task that very few if anyone else does.

• Giving observability of the entire IT stack
• Custom alerting options.
• Ingesting many different types of data.
• Requesting new features is encouraged and they often add them quite quickly.

• Cost is always an issue for a small IT company like mine.
• Some automation processes are not included in this software pack which then leads us to purchase my services from ConnectWise RMM
• Risk analysis reports would be a great tool to have even though it has some capabilities the customization is difficult and confusing

It is not that intuitive to use and requires some learning about what the buttons do and where everything is placed. Even after learning what everything does, it is not that customizable; it sometimes feels like fighting the RMM rather than doing work.

Some elements of the product haven't had the usability upgrade yet and can be a bit technical. This is to be expected as they are trying to solve complex problems. I am sure that in the future, steps will be made to simplify this as well for the users / administrators / developers of the platform.

It's swift, they're thinking along with us. It's a "collaboration approach" rather than a (traditional) customer-supplier relation. Out new ideas are taken in concern and often ends up in enhancements of StackState

We are not a fan of Kaseya's business practices and have moved away from them. We find ConnectWise fairer and easier to work with. Automate was our long-term RMM. RMM deeply simplifies scripting and access. The web version of LabTech was very clunky, and we experienced frequent problems with the app. We have been using RMM for the better part of a year and have not experienced any issues that prevent access to the platform so far.

• Command package from ConnectWise fits mostly with our objectives for our clients in a day to day operations.
• BDR Package is a great platform to manage Disaster Recover options - Sometimes hard to understand the billing options and plans
• NOC services for the servers are the best. Support is on top of the server for anything needed.

• Increased visibility of all resources in cloud to 100%.
• Deviated stages are able to detect problems before their occurrence. However, [it] needs tunings for false alarms.
