We selected to test ProsperWorks and then switched back to Insightly because we had workflows set up and training created specific to Insightly. The cost for Prosperworks with fewer features than our current CRM made it easy to decide to switch back, at least for now. We might …

Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
Copper has helped me extensively keep track of not only my own but my company's workflow. With so many projects and quotes to track, it has become essential to keep me on task and not miss any of our goals. It has been a perfect fit with our specific workflow, but I don't think it has the customizability just yet to be a perfect fit for every company out there.

Insightly is very well suited to track steps in a particular process. It is also very easy to connect contacts, organizations, requests, and projects. It is great for storing data in a way that is easily referenced. It is a helpful tool for facilitating team collaboration. The connectivity to our website forms is also very useful. It is less appropriate for tracking financials as far as invoicing and payments.

Pros
Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
  • I think the Opportunities Pipeline is probably the best feature of the CRM. The versatility of it allows for pipelines to be made for not only sales but myriad of other ways.
  • Copper's commitment to customer satisfaction is pretty spectacular. Many CRMs aren't as dedicated to this and provide their customers with simple how to articles that fall short of being an actual help.
  • Copper's ability to sync with Google is an undersold perk. If a company relies on the Google workspace, Copper is an amazing tool to work alongside with Google.

  • Support>It feels like a partnership and support is a critical asset to consider when adopting new tools
  • Customization>The ability to customize with custom objects has allowed us to utilize Insightly in unique ways.
  • Customer Feedback>They very much are interested in soliciting client feedback when it comes to product planning.

Cons
Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
  • I wish it were easier to create a dashboard to view sales and growth.
  • There are some features I would like to change but can't seem to figure out, so I just deal with not being able to, nothing major though.
  • I would like to see it offer more free links to other services such as Quick Books.

  • There are some minor glitches such as the screen freezing up. You can fix this by refreshing the page and it doesn't happen often but when it does, it does disrupt the flow.
  • Pulling a report from multiple objects is limited. You have a lot of options but there are some things you want to be able to pull in together and you can't.
  • Items such as Contacts and Organizations don't always link together.

Insightly offers a great product; it's the right fit for our company at this time. We were, however, considering moving to Contactually due to their cost effective automation features. However, they lacked the project management capabilities of Insightly. As our company grows, we would love to stay with Insightly - and if they can nail the automation and add the ability to customize a little bit more, it would be the perfect solution for us. For a larger company with a more involved sales team, you might find the metrics/reporting to be a bit basic. Insightly offers great customer service even to free customers

Usability
Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
I would rate Copper overall usability as a 10. It is easy to use. I am not extremely computer friendly so I needed to find something that would fit what I can do. Copper definitely fit the bill. I would highly recommend it to anyone of any level of computer knowledge.

The reports are easy to customize and generate within seconds. The pipeline clearly shows what is going on with the order, so we don't have to waste time frequently checking in. The database helps us quickly look up a healthcare provider's NPI so we can add it to the order and verify eligibility for insurance.

The interface is very user friendly and easy to navigate. Reports can quickly be made, including custom fields. The website response has always been quick to load and has never been unavailable when I have needed access. They listen to requests for additional or custom features, and they hold workshops frequently to assist new and experienced users.

Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
It has been so far so good, they have been quick to respond to queries, and do follow up as well. But then again this is a work in progress and I guess they would not have a solution to every problem every posed to them right away. Hence I will refrain from making any judgments.

Alternatives Considered
Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
For my company, we chose Copper over Salesforce and HubSpot for a few reasons. First and foremost, G-Suite integration. This was one of the most attractive features we liked about Copper. The integration allows for seamless lead import, automated activity tracking and much more. Second, Copper is designed with the end user in mind. It has to be one of the simplest CRMs I have ever used. Additionally, Copper has fantastic customer success managers who make sure you are getting the most out of the platform. Lastly, Copper has very competitive pricing and offers many features of the big name CRMs at a much more economical price point

Insightly has far more modern applications than GoldMine. It allows for more customizations. Our reports are nicer looking and it seems much more user friendly. Insightly also seems to be more than just sales focused. GoldMine seemed to really be geared more towards a sales staff. Insightly has more capabilities for our future needs as well

(+) Being able to download my LinkedIn connections was a huge benefit. (+) I use the task function to stay on top of my follow-up activity which is another positive feature. (+) The sorting capabilities also help me pinpoint the contacts that I need to stay on top of. (-) When I add a new lead from an existing organization, I would like the organization's information to automatically populate the fields like address, website, description. I enter all that information manually. (-) My mass mailing experience has been tedious due to the email function being interrupted and crashing due to bad email addresses in some of my records. (-) Many of my leads do not have current email addresses. I wish Insightly offered a tool to help find email addresses. I spend too much time researching to find email addresses.

Return on Investment
Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)
  • I used ProsperWorks at a startup with around 100 people that was undergoing a serious sales crisis. ProsperWorks, I would say, was the number one tool to turn around the sales team as it allowed one book of truth and one place where every one could finally be on the same page.
  • It's hard to judge ROI on the joy of using a well designed product. After using SFDC or Hubspot or any other CRM, ProsperWorks will feel like a Ferrari. Everything is fast, everything is smooth, and it's lightweight in a good way.
  • The ROI was excellent based on a productivity stand point. Being able to pull up daily activity reports went a LONG way to ensuring the sales team was hitting their marks, and getting done what they need to get done.

  • We started using Insightly to organize our company, and it's done just that and more which provides value that money cannot buy.
  • Insightly allows our sales team to stay on top of sales leads more so than doing so without it, which in turn creates more sales opportunities.
