Copper

Positives for [Copper (formerly ProsperWorks)]:-G Suite Compatibility: An industry problem Copper CRM is focused on solving is the lack of integration with current software systems like G Suite. Copper CRM is fully compatible with G Suite, and it is the only sales automation solution endorsed by Google.-Copper CRM is focused on the time-to-value ratio. It aims to provide the maximum value possible while limiting the time it takes for its users to input data manually. Some of its features include workflow and task automation for users who sign up for the two higher tiers.-Simplicity: Copper CRM is designed to be simple. The software has a handy sidebar where users can search for tasks, tracked emails, opportunities, and companies. A link to contact the Support team is also included. If users have issues, they can simply reach out to this team.-Quick Onboarding: Setting up or switching to Copper is a quick and painless experience. Copper focuses on getting new users set up within days, not weeks or months like some of its competitors.Negatives:-Lack of Features: The biggest drawback of Copper CRM is the lack of features it provides its users. It is designed for simplicity. Therefore, it is missing many of the advanced features offered by its competitors. For example, it doesn’t offer users a dedicated account manager, and click-to-call requires third-party software.-Lack of Flexibility Outside G Suite

Shared Contacts for Gmail

It's well-designed to address a major issue with Google contacts. It has helped us save a significant amount of time. Our greatest problem has been getting a single address book for all of our internal and external connections that everyone on our team could use. This app quickly fixed the problem without requiring us to make any changes to our existing setup. They've taken a very simple, missed element in Google contact, namely messages sharing, and taken it to a whole new stage.

Pros

Copper

  • The Google integration and Chrome extension automatically tracks and updates prospect and lead activity in the CRM. Data entry is simplified.
  • Copper is a very user-friendly CRM with the ability to create custom fields, multiple pipelines, sales stages, etc. It is truly customizable and far less complex than other CRMs I have used in the past.
  • Copper makes it simple to add leads manually, through Gmail or using a template and uploading a large list.
  • Great support. We are very happy with our account management team and they strive to make sure we are getting the most out of the platform.
  • Pricing is very competitive.

Shared Contacts for Gmail

  • You can easily create a group i.e. Maintenance and share that with anyone that you would like to have access to the maintenance groups contact information.
  • You can give permissions to some people or not which will allow them to make changes to the contacts. This can help to keep the information up-to-date for everyone.
  • This has made sharing contacts and organizing our information so much easier!

Cons

Copper

  • I wish they allowed you to email from within the CRM and create calendar invites from within the app instead of just kicking you out to a Gmail window.
  • I wish they included more custom fields and email tracking in their basic plan.

It's funny. In all other processes EXCEPT for cancellation, the UX & UI is straightforward and friendly, gives you an adequate notification, and works as expected. Wonder why a company would have the opposite design principles in place for their cancellation process. It's almost as if they are intentionally trying to prevent people to cancel their accounts successfully. Beware.

Overall the support for ProsperWorks CRM is OK. When I get hold of my reps they are pretty knowledgeable and usually solve my problems. When I first started using the software they were a lot harder to get hold of so this has improved. My biggest complaint though is that my feature requests seem to go into a black hole, I never hear the status of them and I have no idea if they have even been passed on.

Alternatives Considered

Copper

I selected Copper because of its interface with all things Google, specifically the sync feature for calendar and capture of email correspondence. It made sense to use Copper because our corporate communications is built on the Google platform. Bloomerang is an excellent tool for tracking donor contributions, but not as facile as a CRM. I didn't work extensively in Zoho or Salesforce.

Shared Contacts for Gmail

This product is much better because we can share more precisely within our team. Cornerstone permissions were difficult to share vendors with all of our team members. It's all or none and not categories of information. For example, I may want our technicians to have access to vendor information about our outside laboratory and our client service team doesn't need that. With Cornerstone and QuickBooks it was all or none.

Return on Investment

Copper

  • Speed to call leads has increased for us over 32%.
  • Opportunities have not fallen through the cracks with collaboration efforts from CS and Sales.
  • Saves us time inputting information into just Copper vs. multiple clicks and crappy integrations with other CRMs.
