Darwinbox

Darwinbox in undoubtedly a great human capital management system. It is easy to configure and can be flexibly integrated with the organization's ERP solution. There is little to no training required for employees to use the software - both the desktop version as well as the mobile application. Moreover, it allows employees to connect to each other better on the organization's social network that this software provides. It is best suited for large and mid-sized organizations that have reasonably complex workflows and reporting structures. Darwinbox is less appropriate for relatively flat organizations that have simple workflows and the work involves frequent interaction among employees. In such a case, the use of such an expensive HR tool can be avoided.

If a colleague were to ask for a solution for OKR management, performance reviews, eNPS, and/or employee growth planning then I'd 100% give Lattice my strongest recommendation. Those features are all thoughtfully designed, easy to use, and most importantly stress-free.

  • A small improvement in the UX could be to automate the process of informing the entire organization about an employee's birthday. Presently, the HR manager has to manually send such an email. Sometimes misunderstandings happen when important greetings are missed when the HR manager is on leave.
  • There is just too much data on the Attendance screen. Perhaps, from a UI perspective, this screen could be improved. Also, there should be a feature to recall the leave application if the employee changes his plan and the leave is yet to be approved.

  • Navigating on the website can be confusing. Webpage design can be improved.
  • Management Reviews could be more specific. They are only given one text box to provide feedback on Self-Reviews.
  • The way in which goals are set and how to edit them is confusing. Found myself with repeating goals from a previous quarter even though I tried to turn them off as they were complete.

Lattice Support is not that good. We have had to have calls with them in the past and their product team did not have a lot of knowledge about their product. I believe they are able to provide a much better level of service and that would increase my likelihood to work with them again.

Darwinbox

Darwinbox is a very powerful tool for managing the HR processes of a large organization. It offers a number of unique facilities like the social network module, mobile application version etc. As compared to other software, it offers more utility in the sense that one integrated tool can be used for multiple purposes. It is easy to configure and requires no prior experience from a user's perspective. It provides sharp insights for effective decision making to manage talent in the organization.

I was not part of the evaluation process but having used both, I would say that Lattice has more features and use cases then HighFive, which was fitting for our HR team as they were looking for a partner that can provide more to the broader team, and Lattice has proven to be the answer so far.
