Olo in New York provides an on-demand interface for the restaurant industry, designed to drive digital ordering and delivery for restaurant brands.
I searched for gift card providers and looked at several but none seemed to have the confidence of the internet as much as Giftbit so that's who I went with. It was a good decision.
We chose Giftbit because of its ability to electronically send gift cards, no fees on the recipient side, brand customization, and overall user experience of the site. Other sites we found had high fees to create gift cards, would only allow physical cards, or didn't have an …
I haven't used any products like Giftbit. Since I have enjoyed my experience with Giftbit, I haven't looked into any other platforms that offer the same things.
I have experience with Rybbon, PayPal and Tango Card in addition to Giftbit. From the API perspective of attaching one of these incentive providers to your community platform as its rewards mall it's not even close as Tango Card does the best job hands down. I have not had one …
Revel is my POS provider and they want to charge way to much for online integration so I have not tried it. What I have tried is each companies own apps on their tablets. I would rather have 3 or 4 different tablets that are good at what they do for their respective company …
OLO blows away another product I've used. I've used Restaurant Revolution Technologies and tested online ordering solutions built into NCR/Aloha, Brinks, and Toast, and it's not even close.
Olo knocks it out of the park compared to our old online ordering provider mycheck. Our old provider had many issues with site stability and conversion rates for guests.
Giftbit will work well for teams of 10 or more, and I can see it scaling to an infinite amount. If you put in the work on the front end, you can really customize the experience of the recipient. The only struggle is that if you have a large amount going out, you need to make sure you have all emails or a place to give out all the unique gift card links. We ran into an issue where some overseas employees couldn't use specific gift cards, but we had already pre-loaded our budgeted amount in credits on the platform.
OLO Is great for companies that need an easy way to channel online orders into one centralized place. If a company uses several third-party delivery companies, with each tablet on its counter, OLO helps cut down on the clutter and allows everything to flow through the POS properly. OLO has served us well since we started.
Olo makes the guest experience easy and understandable while placing their orders. They can easily customize their order, modifying each item to their liking using the guidelines we at our restaurant have given.
If there are issues with our equipment, Olo is quick to respond and get us back online.
Olo's usability is great. The only area that keeps them from being a 10 is menu management. Menu management is absolutely workable, but it could be better. The rest of the system works well and is very usable and user-friendly. To the extent that their menu management has opportunities, the Olo Expo product helps this out with the people that need it the most, and thus why they score a 9 overall. Without Olo Expo, I'd score it an 8.
When a redemption via the API connected to my community platform provider failed, the support was extremely limited. It was fast but limited. Most common conversations with Giftbit support ended in "unfortunately we cannot help you or your recipient with that issue." I'm not sure if Giftbit deserves 100% of the blame for API issues with Fuel Cycle community platform but the end result is that a user will redeem their points for a reward and would never get it. Once these issues are reported to me, I couldn't help them from the dashboard either as I was unable to review their claim codes, etc. and make it right, resulting in lost $.
No product is ever perfect and support is there to help when that is the case. The vast majority of time the Olo support team is quick, transparent, and resolves the issues. However, I can't say that they are absolutely perfect (but few support teams are). The only thing keeping them from a 10 is the LVL1 support teams will often not read a ticket fully and see that the troubleshooting steps they are about to give have already taken place.

Revel is my POS provider and they want to charge way to much for online integration so I have not tried it. What I have tried is each companies own apps on their tablets. I would rather have 3 or 4 different tablets that are good at what they do for their respective company then use your "all-in-one" solution that honestly is much worse.
Time savings for employees has been a positive impact.
Our takeout business has increased from less than 10% to over 30% in the last 2 years, we could not have been as successful with this increase without the help of Olo.
