Likelihood to Recommend As it is an open-source platform as a service, it is very easy to operate, scale, and deploy regardless of what programming language and framework it's written in. However, it could be improved in terms of scalability. There should be proper documentation for easier and clearer understanding to make the process smooth.
Read full review BTP is particularly good for Integrating S4 and other SAP platforms. It is also good for developing Software like CAP and Fiori Applications. The event mesh is progressing. I am looking forward to the integration with SAP Build APp, SAP Build Code, and SAP Process Automation. Overall, there are good security and roles.
Read full review Pros Simplicity - the command line tool provided can get you up and running within minutes. Resourceful - IBM Cloud Foundry is built on top of the open source Cloud Foundry technology, so any resources you find online about Cloud Foundry generally can be applied. Read full review Authentication options - In the past, we needed to really leverage our own solutions for MFA and other security measures, but now, out-of-the-box these options are really good and readily available. Ease of use - the interface has been adjusted to be really easy on the eyes but also simpler, less convoluted, and really well thought out. Modernized SAP experience - compared to the old stuff, SAP is really modernizing all of the experiences. The new house style is rejuvenated, and the company is really becoming more likable compared to 10 years ago! SAP Discovery and Missions are a real treat to see what the upcoming costs are! Need: Search/querying capabilities in Conversation Service Need: Clearer documentation of the S2T service. I had to use a third party website for an understanding of how to use this. Read full review Support Rating I have given this rating because there are points that need to be improved with the Support of the SAP Business Technology Platform. Given that there are lots of components and parts within a low-code platform, often there would be a turnaround whether a certain issue is related to the Platform or the Infrastructure.
Read full review Implementation Rating 1. Sometimes the licensing doesn’t make sense, e.g., Difficult to understand the license for ABAP cloud runtime. 2. When SAP Business Technology Platform workflow cost is very high but process automation which offers more features has less cost.
Read full review Alternatives Considered CF is what we initially went with to establish a development pipeline and start our cloud journey, now we are expanding this and although we are now pulling in many other tools and functions around CF, it is not being replaced. It stands out as having a key place working ‘with’ git,
Kubernetes , IBM cloud etc, not against or segregated from it.
Read full review We have used the plain cloud foundry variant also, and there were many problems we faced while running applications on cloud foundry. We have also used the GCP platform to run our applications here also faced many problems. SAP BTP services and integration of service are strong points to consider it.
Read full review Return on Investment IBM Bluemix is mainly a foundation enabler at this stage, although our business plan does look promising. The low cost of development on Bluemix for a start-up like us is so helpful......we had no spare cash for this project besides what we could save or borrow at first, and that wasn't much. We are still trying to attract venture capital to cover the main Cordova Coding effort plus the launch "Cash Burn". Features like push notifications, mobile-back end, and world-beating security help us to sell our SaaS products/services. The pure (usually!) functionality of IBM products and services is very rewarding to work with. They are so insightful and thoughtful, to say naught of clever! Negative impact is SAP BTP way more costlier than any other system like AWS and Azure. Read full review ScreenShots
