Considered Both Products
Indeed Resume
Chose Indeed Resume
Indeed Resume typically sources less professional candidates. People on LinkedIn are more apt to respond for professional level positions.
LinkedIn Talent Solutions
Chose LinkedIn Talent Solutions
LinkedIn typically provides a more sophisticated or professional type of candidate, which is what we are looking for in the banking industry. We need employees who are experienced in the customer service area and enjoy helping customers.
Chose LinkedIn Talent Solutions
LinkedIn is a higher level page for leadership and salaried roles and I find it easier to connect and have a conversation with people on LinkedIn
Chose LinkedIn Talent Solutions
Again, LinkedIn Talent Solutions outranks other recruiting platforms in candidate pool and candidate quality. I have tried many other job boards, demoed other platforms, and though I've successfully found candidates elsewhere, LinkedIn Talent Solutions is my #1 go to. It gets …
Chose LinkedIn Talent Solutions
Although we still use some of the products listed above, LinkedIn has taken the top spot in our recruiters search, as it provides a great source of resumes, the features to be able to connect directly through the platform and the ability for us to file and document interactions …
Chose LinkedIn Talent Solutions
We use job boards like Indeed & Dice for sourcing IT candidates as well. Those job boards are good for lower level positions where there are always plenty of active job seekers. However, for the more in demand skill sets like software development, LinkedIn Talent Solutions is …

Indeed Resume has been well suited in areas where there is not a lot of traction or candidates to apply. It has been less appropriate in heavier areas where there are many more candidates available to apply on their own without the invite or having to search for their resume.

LinkedIn Talent Solutions is the best way to search & find qualified candidates. For profiles with fewer qualifications, there is often little information filled in by the candidates (only job titles) and it takes a lot more phone screening to find the candidate with all the required skills. The statistics tab helps you learn more about our use of the platform and what our response rates are. The saved searches are really convenient and help us to easily expand our network of candidates.

Pros
Indeed
  • It uses boolean search functionality, which allows me to target specific candidates
  • I like that it shows me how long it's been since someone has been active on Indeed
  • The messaging functionality to reach out to candidates and have them respond back to you is very user-friendly

  • UI - Pretty easy to navigate once you get the hang of it.
  • Large platform of candidates. I can't find a better platform for finding professional candidates
  • Ability to post jobs - easy to use. Attracts more of the right qualified candidates than any platform that I have posted on.

Cons
Indeed
  • I find it does not always recommend the best resumes to invite to the job we are recruiting for, based off the experience needed or job titles in the candidates resume
  • I don't like how invites don't roll over into a new month if you don't use all of them in a said period of time.

  • The cost is significant, especially for the more robust options
  • You can't easily collaborate with team members unless they have a license as well
  • Support tickets can take awhile to resolve, I've had one (bug with spend tracking) that took 2 months to resolve

We have implemented this tool across several management divisions and locations as of today, so I don't anticipate us canceling our subscription. With the upcoming pricing changes, we are looking at ways that we can stricken the user of the software, but we have seen such benefits from it that we simply cannot go without it as of today.

Usability
Indeed
Overall it is the best product for quick searching and sourcing, but it is costly and prices continue to increase each budget year. We will continue to use it as it gives us the best conversion rate for finding candidates and hiring them over any other job page out there right now.

Support Rating

This tool allows you to do so much for such an affordable rate. If you want to scoop up your competition's talent, you can filter searches for resumes for people who have or currently work at their business. You can also you Bollinger searches for individuals who have experience with a specific type or word. And my favorite, you can set up search criteria that alert you of any new resumes with specific criteria so you are first to reach out. Highly Recommend.

Alternatives Considered
Indeed
It was selected for me. I find it stacks up well just because Indeed is a commonly used resource for employers and job seekers. Its functionality leaves a lot to be desired, it does not have features that an ordinary word processor might. It is a useful tool if you advertise exclusively on Indeed, otherwise, it has its limitations.

I think the main thing about Linkedin is how global it has become. People might not know of other tools but they know about LinkedIn and everyone wants to be there or is learning that they have to be there to get good opportunities and build a network by using social platforms that aren't just focused on the social aspect.

While we don't need it to scale, I see how easy it would be to separate by departments and projects

  • It really hasn't helped me much because my facilities are in such rural settings and since you all do as the crow flies for the distance I get a lot of applicants that do not realize the facility they are applying for is more of an hour and 15-minute drive away from them.

  • The majority of our ROI come from referrals, but LinkedIn Talent Solutions has also helped us find candidates. If they referral doesn't pan out, then Workable is usually next, followed by LinkedIn.
  • LinkedIn Talent Solutions has gotten more expensive and has eliminated the Small Business offering so we did not renew. It just became to costly based on the ROI.
  • Clients always like that we have access to post jobs to LinkedIn Talent Solutions because they consider LinkedIn legitimate and professional.
