I did not choose Namely, the previous head of HR selected it. I do not find Namely to be better in any area than the tools Ive used in the past. Specifically the user interface - some of my employees have limited experience with technology and this system is not intuitive.

Namely is aesthetically very pleasing and navigates like other social media platforms which can be appealing to potentially a remote workforce who interacts more online than in person. Unfortunately, it did not serve our population well as we are primarily manufacturing where people are not as interested in utilizing the HRIS for interactions when they would rather connect in person.

As an employee, I found Rippling super helpful and easy to use to check my benefits and also have a nice overview of my available PTO. Another thing and the one I love the most is being able to request PTO trhough the app without having to reach out/follow up directly with my supervisors for the request and approval. Everything is done on the app and is reflected on our calendars which saves time and makes it easier.

  • Namely has helped with our COVID sick leave response. It has made a major difference both with the weekly payroll and the 941 tax filing
  • Keeping track of our multiple PTO plans. Thank goodness for Namely, I have shredded my old PTO spreadsheets.
  • Employees like the convenience of the cell phone app. As a payroll administrator, I like the Geo Tracking tool where I can see where some are when the clock is in or out.
  • The flexibility inside of the payroll system both as you are finalizing an employee profile and when you are processing payroll is a major advantage.
  • The reports I get out of Namely in Excel format work well for me.

  • Apply yourself for a new position.
  • The PTO and vacation process is very simple, fully online, and the forms are easy to fill out. Reports are quickly sent to our managers for approval. Maybe it sounds like I’m exaggerating, but I’m really not — maybe it's just something we take for granted. I used to work at a great company with an absolutely terrible system. For over ten years, they couldn’t manage to replace it. Simple things like requesting time off, getting a raise, or uploading documents took forever — sometimes months — and even the IT team struggled with it. Compared to that, Rippling truly feels like magic.
  • Again: Intuitive, simple, just how it should be! We already have work and tasks that are often complicated! An HR system that is meant to help employees shouldn’t add to our workload, stress, or become a source of problems.

  • Limits to custom reporting
  • No direct feed for Ohio Workers Comp (now a manual process on our end)
  • No option to place an employee on Leave of Absence and exclude them from payroll while they are "inactive"
  • No option to suppress certain deductions for certain pay types (i.e. allow 401K for commissions but block remaining deductions - also now a manual process to uncheck the suppress box for 401K for each commission check)

  • The complex customized report is still a challenge between two departments. Comparison reports still lack across the departments.
  • The icons can be more visualized for better search, otherwise it will take time to go with menus.
  • The alignment in data points should be more accurate and specific with centralized key points according to their menu.
  • The help and reference links should always be their on each page to switch quickly.

Administrators and employees love Namely. It is very easy to use and streamlined. Employees stay engaged with news feed updates and enjoy all the self service options. The time cards are very easy to access and clocking in and out for non-exempt employees is a breeze. Namely is part of our family.

It is very simple to use for myself, the HR team, and our employees. I find the payroll process very user-friendly. Reporting is simple to navigate and produce the required information requested. I know our employees enjoy the self-service feature and use it on a regular basis, which saves me time.

If I can use it anyone can use it. I am tech savvy but let's face it, it's tough going from one program to the next and then adding in all the constant upgrades and updates that various entities have it gets difficult to keep up. Rippling makes it easy and to make it one of the best companies around they have a vast archive of quick, to the point instructional videos to help on a myriad of issues that may come up.

I like that the availability in using Rippling at any given time is useful to me. Getting on the site freely when I need gives me security of knowing that I can be in control of viewing health insurance and hours information. I have yet to get any errors in using the Rippling app.

I am confident that Going from one page to the next and all its complexity usage does not lag or times out, it works effectively and efficiently. Namely Payroll and Namely Benefits are very much depending on the quality of the support agent or CSM: we have had knowledgeable and attentive ones, but also ones that have provided erroneous information or failed to respond to urgent asks in a timely manner

Implementation was a bit complicated and our company had to carry most of the weight. It often felt like our implementation manager was giving us extra work that she did not want to do herself. It also took much longer than expected - I believe almost 2 months. I believe our company carried a bit too much of the weight.

It's really easy to implement in comparison to other tools or applications. Different key points are easily configured and implemented as per need, having different configurations in systems. Implementation is something which binds the different parameters of an organization in a single row. Implementation of rippling is much easier, quicker, and error free than any other software. I recommend it strongly!

The reason I continued to choose Namely at multiple employers is due to the continuity of employee experience. And the features have continued to grow since I initially onboarded in 2014. Also, through the years, I have had terrific benefits teams. The customer service has been the worst part of the experience outside of the benefits team.

  • The company has many employees more than 70, having the possibility of reducing workloads for the human resources team reduces costs substantially.
  • Employees can significantly reduce minor procedures by having the ability to make changes to their contracts immediately. The system automates these reports so that the HR team can obtain all statuses in real time.
  • The peace of mind that comes from having the system periodically report the status of a payment reduces the number of queries and potential inconveniences to the employer.
