Likelihood to Recommend I think the best place for TimeClock Plus to work would be at a restaurant or a busy business that has a lot of people to track and needs a robust dashboard to keep things in order. For my organization, we only have around 10 people max per location and it was a bit too expensive and complex for our needs. We could use a simpler system.
Read full review I recommend When I Work to those companies that are looking for a way to manage work schedules and want to increase the productivity of all employees. This is an important platform that would bring excellent results to small, medium and large companies. This is a constant monitoring system which allows employees to complete their tasks in the indicated time, When I Work sends automated alerts when an employee is not complying with their tasks and this allows us to know exactly the productivity we are having in each one of the sectors. It is an excellent platform for planning and administration of working hours, it has a very easy-to-use UI that allows schedules to be easily managed. Without a doubt, When I Work would be a perfect implementation for any sector or company, since it has a lot of potential to collect exact data on compliance with working hours.
Read full review Pros Track hours Track hour details User-friendly as an employee Allows our team to stay compliant Track PTO Manage time sheet on a day to day basis Read full review When I Work allowed me to color-code each employee's schedule. When I Work allowed me to show who was "off" during what time of day. This was essential for morale, as our event included 16-18 hour days, and I wanted to show that everyone had down time each day. Read full review Cons Would be nice to see at end of day hours currently worked. Instead you have to do this using another function. Should be simpler way of putting employee's schedule in time clock rather than copying and pasting week after week, month after month. Should be a way to archive old employees. Read full review You cannot view inactive employees on the app. When pulling up the schedule on the app, it defaults to Tuesday when the screen is done loading. If you pull up an individual's schedule it removes your default settings. For example, I have mine set to just my store, but if I need to see an employee's schedule it resets those defaults. You're always looking at the last schedule you pulled up. Read full review Likelihood to Renew It's a powerful tool for employee management and intuitive to use.

Read full review Support Rating The support representatives respond quickly and work hard to resolve every issue. They are always friendly and courteous. The email notifications are our most significant issue, and they are still not entirely resolved. I dislike having to sign forms to allow them access to the databases routinely...it seems this could be an annual document. I can continue to work on other things while the When I Work representative assists me.

Read full review Alternatives Considered We switched to Namely for our HRIS system and they had a time tracking solution integrated within their software which made us no longer need to utilize TimeClock Plus. Namely's time tracking also flowed seamlessly into our payroll which made the process much simpler and easier to use. The reporting is also much easier to utilize.
Read full review When I Work seemed a bit easier to implement for our team and employees. When I Work had all the things we needed without a lot of the bells and whistles that we wouldn't really utilize. When I Work was also a bit more affordable for our budget. Overall, it was the better choice.
Read full review Return on Investment Positive: The ease of not manually tracking clocking in and out. Negative: Expensive and too robust of a software for a small team. Negative: The app is dated and needs an update and can be slow. Read full review Has cut down on the time I spend scheduling. Makes estimating payroll simple. Is convenient for staff to use because they can utilize it on their own device. Allows for messaging as well, which helps get the word out about numerous things, not just scheduling issues.
