We use ClickUp everyday to manage and organize clients and the work we do for or clients.

It helps us organize tech stacks, documentation, and build systems. Any work we do for clients is tracked and documented in ClickUp which allows anyone on the team to easily jump in and see what's being done.

Being able to communicate on the tasks helps us to be able to collaborate. It makes it really easy to search for and find past work, or similar work being done for different clients.

It greatly increases my productivity and organization. As someone with ADHD, being able to bucket my tasks and organize them in ways that work with my brain has made work so much easier in ClickUp.

I’m not just working down a list and being reactive; I can see what’s important, plan my days, and easily make sure I’m working on the right things. It takes away the analysis paralysis.

Pros

Custom Fields, task types, tags, everything is highly customizable in ClickUp which allows you to make it work for you.
Integrations, the integration options are great, I can connect to time trackers to track time, AI to help improve my efficiency. There are so many integrations available.
Dashboards, the dashboards are highly customizable and paired with task types and fields, I can really bucket my work in ways that organize my days so I know what's important.
The tasks themselves, being able to have parent tasks and subtasks make larger projects so much more clear. Subtasks are used to build all the pieces and the parent task holds all the documentation about the project.

Cons

I have run into some performance issues when too many people are working on the same task at once. The task gets messed up and overwritten and we have to redo the task.
I have noticed some slowness on my dashboard when I have too many items on it. It is pretty good but once I try to add my planner or too many things, it gets pretty laggy.

Return on Investment

We can easily show our value to clients with how we keep track of projects and timelines. There's no question on what work has been done because it's clearly tracked.
We are getting things done faster than ever with the AI integration and our own process in ClickUp that completely negates any time for having to dig up past work.
Being able to use AI to scan the work that's been done and build documentation means that any problems or questions down the line are quickly resolved because the information and history is all right there.

We develop software for clinical research and as our projects and tasks became more complex, and as our team grew, we needed something that would help us manage the project electronically and where we could have ongoing conversations about tasks and issues, without relying on email or word of mouth. Bringing on new people to the team before Clickup meant there was a gap in their knowledge and we'd have to rehash details to get them up to speed. Now with Clickup, we can add them to the project space and they can review the history of tasks very quickly and frankly more completely than we could do before. Also, with the number of teammates who support many different teams, it's helpful for them to be easily able to see what all their tasks are across all their projects and that's very easy in Clickup.

Pros

Easy to use interface; very flexible which allows for different teams to organize their projects in a way that works best for them.
The ability to customize my notifications as granularly as they allow is very helpful
Integrations to many different other tools and systems gives us the ability to automate task creation or inform other systems when something changes
They've included a lot of performance monitoring capabilities into the system
The variety of views that one could use to see their tasks and projects is great
the automations have really helped simplify getting reminders or moving tasks forward as progress gets made.

Cons

When I change the view or sort things differently, I get this pop up telling me there are unsaved changes in my view and gives me options for what to do. I really was just sorting things a specific way so I'd like to be able to tell that popup "don't bother me about this in the future" because I don't care to save that view for everyone.
I admit I struggle with the Search function sometimes. Maybe it's because I don't use it often because I struggle with it but it has gotten better.
The keyboard short cuts usually get me in trouble because I accidentally hit a special key while I'm using it, unintentionally, which means I have to get out of something and get back to what I was doing. I imagine I can turn those off but I just haven't taken the time to look for it. Perhaps a personal setting to allow my user to disable keyboard short cut responses?
I setup an automation to automatically send me a direct message when the due date is reached on a project. and to set the due date to another +7 days. But that automation doesn't check the status of the task. So even after closing the task, it still executes the automations. Not the end of the world but could be fixed

Return on Investment

While I don't have specific measured ROI, the ROI is strong in my opinion. The ability to maintain a task history, assign tasks and subtasks, setup automations, see everyone's task assignment and load in one place - has reduced the need for as many meetings as well as the length of meetings. No more trying to search emails looking for the reasoning for a feature modification, etc.
Reduces meetings, reduces searching for prior communications, no need for tracking spreadsheets with notes. Very solid ROI.

Handle multiple tasks in innovation planning. Making automated tasks from spreadsheet triggers. Automating the creation of tasks as recursive for long planners.
Being able to get a glimpse of the pending work to do on a timeline that lets me move it right away.
The automated task creation is important because it lets me translate the current issue we are facing from another platform into a detailed task.
Additionally, we handle multiple channels within the space, so it's a great feature to be able to link them as blockers, this way we can act as soon as they are finished.

So, every week, my manager uploads my tasks and I manage them, updating deadlines, uploading files and links, and distributing tasks among the team, whether it's other Analysts or Designers.

I find ClickUp to be a very great tool for organizing all of our bugs and other improvements in a single section. It allows us to assign a person who will look after these tasks and prioritize them. I also appreciate that it gives us a task list and highlights things which are urgent to be done.
We use it for collaboration between technical teams & product teams.
Major role is for us to monitor tickets (client problems & platform bugs)

Pros

Assignement of task & subtask directly to a PM or technical person
Ability to add all details, along with mail, recordings, pdfs, ppts etc for each task created
Integration with slack helps in keeping alerts & visibility of tickets' statuses for entire team

Cons

Mobile app lags & breaks compared to a web app or website. UI is different
Global search in inconsistent within the platform, creating a hard time to pinpoint few niche tickets
ClickUp Brain can be improved. It also falls out of base plan due to AI, whereas it should be included in one

Return on Investment

Primary is tool consolidation cost. Clickup costs us much cheaper at under 10 dollars per seat. Almost 15 member team, we even get more discount for more members
Integration is slack is very helpful for everyone in the org to notice ticket statuses, and directly reach out to respective clients, or get informed about platform updates
We started with free forever, then specifically purchased business to have few automations & use AI for faster time to delivery
