What is Experian Account & Portfolio Management?

Experian's Account and Portfolio Management solution leverages data, analytics, models and attributes to maintain portfolio stability and drive account profitability.

Experian's portfolio management solutions help users to understand and benchmark their institution’s aggregate credit risk within their portfolios through advanced loss forecasting and scenario-based stress testing. This can help identify and manage concentrations of risk while meeting regulatory requirements with respect to capital and liquidity.

Beyond this, the solution enables users to:

  • Automate account management strategy - Develop account management practices that include automating rules-based workflows to activate account treatments and specific customer experiences.
  • Proactively monitor accounts - Using fresh data, attributes, and scores, the user can extract insights from data details, including real-time and daily triggers. Takes the guesswork out of account management.
  • Engage platform solutions for end-to-end account management programs - For more comprehensive solutions, Experian offers a range of platform solutions to deliver an end-to-end account management program.
  • Build a program based on an institution's unique needs - Experian offers reports and tools for smaller businesses not yet ready to institute a full account management program. These strategies help identify the business’s immediate next steps.
  • Drive data-driven decisions and better understand customers - Standardizing, deduping and validating data stored in a single record to ensure customer data is accurate and ready for use across the business.

We use this product to recommend different portfolio mix for the financial companies so that they can serve their direct customers better. We use it in the scenario of B2B2C models where, along with end customer profile, we predict which portfolio mix will be suitable for a particular segment of customers. We share these segments to our financial clients and then they use it for reaching out to their end users
  • Credit scoring
  • Underwriting attributes
  • Mix of similar portfolios
  • This product should provide portfolio mix encompassing very dissimilar industries more often
  • Should have some AI/ ML capabilities to segregate high risk portfolios as desired one
  • Reporting and Dashboards can be more user friendly
  • Plug and Play Integration with other tools
It suits well for large clients dealing with lots of data and has robust system of underwriting. There are vast portfolio mix that can be imported from this product and finance companies should have large enough client base to utilise these values

Where It is not well suited, where the client needs more automated capabilities with ready to made recommendations
  • Giving mix of portfolios
  • Providing intelligence to create segments
  • User non PII attributes to create customer profile
  • 5 percent positive impact of total customer attributes
  • 2 percent increase in ROI on acquiring customers
  • 3 percent decrease in default where our segments are used
AWS Trusted Advisor is too generic to use for our client's use cases. Though, they have used AI capabilities much more efficiently, but, their core capabilities lie somewhere else and they have different views of customers which are not aligned with our vision to come up with segments and share the same with our financial services clients.
