HoxHunt has proven to be a valuable tool in maintaining knowledge about common threats used by hackers to obtain sensitive information or access devices. Users have found the tool helpful in identifying potential weak links in cybersecurity through email testing. The software offers a variety of exercises, such as phishing and spam email simulations, which motivate users with monthly goals and badges. By competing with others in the organization and tracking their progress with milestones, employees are encouraged to improve their cybersecurity skills. HoxHunt's frequent email tests simulate various hacking attacks while providing tips to identify and prevent future attacks, making it an entertaining form of training that increases security in email networks.

One of the key use cases for HoxHunt is training employees to recognize and report phishing attempts. By using the software, organizations have successfully reduced the chances of falling victim to malicious emails. The gamified learning process offered by HoxHunt, including features like a dashboard, achievements, and rankings, has been effective in motivating users to actively participate and improve their cybersecurity awareness. With its comprehensive coverage of different online threats such as phishing and spamming, HoxHunt helps users avoid falling for these tactics by analyzing sender information, links, and misspellings. Additionally, HoxHunt is widely used for company-wide training to mitigate malware, phishing, and other cyber attacks commonly propagated through targeted emails.

Engaging and Informative Platform: Many users have found Hoxhunt's platform to be engaging and informative. They appreciate how it presents trending security tips with graphic and friendly examples, enhancing their understanding of potential threats.

Clear and Intuitive User Interface: Users consistently praise Hoxhunt for its clear, intuitive, and easy-to-use user interface. They find it unobtrusive on the desktop, allowing them to seamlessly navigate the platform without any frustration or confusion.

Cons:

  1. Lack of Feedback on Missed Opportunities: Some users have expressed a desire for more feedback on why they missed opportunities and what they missed, particularly when it comes to emails that may have gone to spam. They feel that having this information would help them improve their email security skills.
  2. Unclear Points or Stars System: Several reviewers have mentioned that the points or stars system used in the training sessions is unclear at times, making it easy to miss important emails or ignore them. They suggest that a clearer explanation of how the scoring works would be beneficial.
  3. Limited Real-Life Examples in Training: Users have suggested including more realistic examples of different types of phishing attempts in the training sessions, such as job offer scams, charity scams, and coronavirus scams. They believe that exposing employees to a wider range of real-world scenarios would enhance their ability to identify and respond to potential threats.

Users highly recommend Hoxhunt for its effectiveness in preventing cyber security threats, specifically in regard to phishing mail. They consider it a valuable tool that raises awareness about security issues and equips users with practical skills to spot malicious emails. Users appreciate how Hoxhunt helps them understand the dangers of malicious emails and safeguard sensitive information. They encourage others to explore the usefulness of Hoxhunt and view it as a worthwhile investment for enhancing overall security practices within an organization.

  • Mitigating potential threats allows for a continuous workflow
  • Reducing the incidence of information leakage allows the company to maintain its competitiveness based on its capacity for innovation.
  • It allows our IT security department to detect those users who need better cyber security training.
  • The efforts of our IT engineers are now focused on finding improvements, and not on solving problems derived from the computer infection.

  • I believe that it has a great positive impact, because, with the informed collaborator, it avoids a loss of confidential data and, consequently, does not lose customer trust.
  • Employee more confident that he is prepared not to suffer hacker attacks
  • On the negative side, I believe that for small institutions it is not very interesting, since there are few employees, perhaps the cost is not worth it.
  • In general, the company and employees feel more confident that they are protecting the company and customer data

  • We have seen our failure rates (clicking on phishing attempts) reduced by 10% within our focus group during the initial training cycle. I don't have numbers after the larger deployment but I believe the reduction is higher since it moved beyond a security-focused team.
