Ivanti Unified Endpoint Manager, formerly known as LANDESK Management Suite, is a versatile software utilized globally across IT business units for asset management and solving remote support issues. It offers a wide range of features such as patching, software distribution, imaging, monitoring, and inventory management. Users benefit from improved support capabilities and better response to vulnerability attacks. The software enables efficient remote deployment of software/images, troubleshooting, and quick management of thousands of computers across different locations. Additionally, it provides additional functionality for asset management, reporting, and system administration. While some users have mentioned the higher cost and learning curve involved in ticketing conventions, overall, Ivanti Unified Endpoint Manager proves effective for managing assets, distributing software, standardizing imaging, and enhancing security measures.

  1. Users recommend opting for the self-hosted version of Ivanti instead of the cloud version, as it provides more control and flexibility in managing IT assets and processes.

  2. Reviewers suggest implementing regular updates and patches to ensure smooth and secure software performance. Applying these updates has resulted in significant improvements in stability and reliability of the IT infrastructure.

  3. Customers recommend leveraging Ivanti's integration capabilities with other systems and tools. By integrating Ivanti with existing IT management solutions, users have streamlined workflows, improved efficiency, and gained better visibility into their IT operations.

  • We're better able to help end users since they hav all one version of shortcut and application
  • Deploying missing applications is much easier, we provide a shortcut and an end user install it on demand
  • We are much better able to see what has happened due to the integrated logging; timing or other issues can be found in one interface!

  • Ivanti is allowing us to accomplish more standardization and support as we centralize all IT functions and develop true global standards. Without Ivanti, we would have to use multiple tools and would not be as far along in our project as we currently are.

  • Pro - Automation helps to drive down costs, software deployment and patching is far more efficient than manual installs.
  • Con - The amount of manpower it can take to deal with bugs or workaround solutions can be high. These are less tangible since it often happens without tracking the loss in time and productivity.

  • Able to keep system deployments up to date more easily.
  • Added a central point of troubleshooting and the ability to resolve problems more quickly.
  • Upgrades have been a headache and resulted in a lot of time spent investigating the unknown.

  • In a college environment, the remote control access is very helpful in resolving issues w/o running around campus.
  • Very nice to push software to multiple devices at once.
  • Software portal is useful in allowing users to get what they need without the need for a tech.

  • Centralized IT - all in one solution that is better in some areas than traditional niche software applications. You'll probably still spend the same amount of time with users on the HD line, but you'll be able to reduce the amount of time it takes for auxiliary Help Desk tasks (ticketing, reporting, background deployment, etc.)
  • Cost - This is a negative of course ;) But at some point you can save some money if you ditch SCCM or your other CRM

  • With a little bit of training and trial and error and you can customize your environment how ever you want/need.

  • It has had a positive impact by saving our IT staff time by allowing them to install software to a network computer, and it's easy for our admins to set up patching that needs to be done.
  • Saves us time by allowing our IT staff to remote into computers to troubleshoot issues with our employees.
  • It saves us time by not having to go to each computer or server one by one to patch.

  • The visibility into our devices, what they are doing, what is installed on them, etc., has been key. Has helped save us quite a bit in licensing and device replacement.
